What is Airbus engineering?

Airbus Engineering refers to the division within Airbus that is responsible for designing, developing, and testing aircraft and aerospace systems. Engineers at Airbus work on a variety of projects, ranging from commercial airplanes to helicopters and space technologies. Their work includes everything from aerodynamics and structural engineering to avionics and manufacturing processes. Airbus engineers collaborate globally to innovate and improve aircraft performance, safety, and sustainability. Careers in Airbus Engineering often require specialized education in aerospace or mechanical engineering and offer opportunities to work on cutting-edge aviation technology.

What do Airbus engineers do?

Airbus Engineers are often involved in multidisciplinary projects ranging from designing advanced aircraft components to improving manufacturing processes and ensuring compliance with aviation safety standards. Collaboration is a key part of the role, as engineers regularly work in cross-functional teams that include specialists in aerodynamics, materials science, and systems engineering. Daily responsibilities typically include project meetings, design reviews, problem-solving sessions, and close coordination with colleagues to ensure that project milestones are met efficiently and safely.

What skills and qualifications are needed to thrive as an Airbus engineer?

To thrive as an Airbus Engineer, you need a solid background in aerospace engineering, mechanical or electrical engineering, often supported by a relevant degree and sometimes a professional engineering license.
