Job description

Michigan Mechanical Ventures is a fast-growing contractor in Southeast Michigan looking to add talented and driven individuals to our team. We are a Family-owned Plumbing/HVAC company focused primarily on commercial service and new construction looking for a full-time Commercial HVAC Estimator to join our team. In this role, you will play a crucial part in our project success by accurately calculating the costs of HVAC installations, repairs, and maintenance projects. We are looking for a detail-oriented professional with a strong understanding of HVAC systems and excellent analytical skills.

Responsibilities:
  • Prepare comprehensive and accurate cost estimates for commercial and residential HVAC projects.
  • Analyze blueprints, specifications, and other documents to determine the scope of work and materials needed.
  • Source and obtain quotes from suppliers and subcontractors.
  • Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and clients to ensure estimates align with project goals and budget.
  • Maintain and update a database of material costs, labor rates, and historical project data.
  • Identify potential risks and opportunities that may affect project costs.
  • Present and review estimates with management and clients.

Qualifications:
  • Proven experience as an HVAC Estimator or in a similar role.
  • In-depth knowledge of HVAC systems, components, and installation methods.
  • Strong ability to read and interpret technical drawings and project specifications.
  • Proficiency with estimating software (e.g., AccuBid, FastDUCT, Bluebeam) and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and a high level of accuracy.
  • A relevant degree or certification is a plus.
