Overview:
INTECON, LLC is seeking an experienced Training Developer / Instructor to support the Mobility Air Forces (MAF) Mission Planning Systems (MPS) Capability Drop-4 (CD-4) program. This position is responsible for designing, developing, delivering, and maintaining training and technical documentation supporting Air Mobility Command (AMC) mission planning modernization initiatives.
The successful candidate will develop and deliver high-quality, role-based training products that enable Air Mobility Command personnel to effectively employ evolving mission planning capabilities. In addition, the individual will support the development, review, editing, and maintenance of technical, operational, and program documentation to ensure consistency, accuracy, and compliance with Air Force and DoD standards.
This position requires an individual with strong instructional design, technical writing, and communication skills, coupled with experience supporting complex defense systems and operational users.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Conduct training needs analyses to identify user training requirements associated with new mission planning software capabilities and system enhancements.
  • Design, develop, and maintain curriculum, lesson plans, instructor guides, student guides, quick-reference materials, job aids, and multimedia training content.
  • Deliver instructor-led, on-site, classroom, and virtual training sessions for Air Mobility Command personnel and mission planning system users.
  • Develop and maintain computer-based training (CBT), e-learning modules, and other digital instructional products.
  • Coordinate training events, including scheduling, logistics, student communications, and classroom preparation.
  • Support the Government's ability to record, archive, and reuse training materials and instructional sessions.
  • Collect, evaluate, and incorporate student and stakeholder feedback to continuously improve training effectiveness.
  • Ensure all training materials remain current, accurate, and aligned with evolving software releases and operational requirements.
  • Research, develop, draft, edit, review, and maintain technical, operational, and program documentation supporting MAF Mission Planning Systems initiatives.
  • Review and edit technical documents for clarity, consistency, grammar, accuracy, completeness, and compliance with Air Force and DoD standards.
  • Collaborate with engineers, system analysts, operational users, and subject matter experts to develop and refine documentation.
  • Support development and maintenance of training documentation, operational procedures, user guides, technical manuals, and other program artifacts.
  • Assist with the review and update of concepts, use cases, scenarios, vignettes, and other mission planning documentation as required.
  • Ensure documentation is properly version controlled, configuration managed, and maintained within Government-approved repositories.
  • Coordinate with Government stakeholders, developers, and functional users to ensure training and documentation products accurately reflect operational requirements and system functionality.
  • Support meetings, working groups, and technical reviews by preparing presentation materials, meeting minutes, and documentation packages.
  • Maintain documentation and training artifacts in SharePoint, Microsoft Teams, Learning Management Systems (LMS), and other collaboration environments.
  • Support data calls, program reporting activities, and other contract deliverables as required.
Security Clearance:
  • Active Top Secret clearance, with SCI Eligibility preferred.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Education, Instructional Systems, Technical Writing, Communications, Computer Science, or a related field. Master's degree is preferred.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience developing and delivering training for DoD, Air Force, or other complex technical systems.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience developing, reviewing, editing, or maintaining technical and operational documentation supporting federal or defense programs.
  • Demonstrated experience designing, developing, and delivering both classroom and online training courses.
  • Experience applying instructional design methodologies such as ADDIE, SAM, or equivalent.
  • Experience developing training materials using e-learning and instructional development tools such as Adobe Captivate, Articulate Storyline, Camtasia, or equivalent.
  • Experience delivering training both in person and through virtual collaboration platforms such as Microsoft Teams, ZoomGov, or similar technologies.
  • Experience supporting Air Force or DoD software systems, preferably Mission Planning Systems (JMPS, JOMS, NOMS, MAFPS) or related operational systems.
  • Demonstrated experience developing, editing, or reviewing technical manuals, user guides, training documentation, and operational procedures.
  • Excellent written, verbal, presentation, and organizational skills with strong attention to detail.
  • Proficiency in:
    • Microsoft Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook).
    • SharePoint and Microsoft Teams.
    • Learning Management Systems (LMS).
    • Adobe Acrobat Pro.
    • Multimedia and e-learning development tools.
    • Collaboration, task tracking, and document management systems.
  • Preferred:
    • Experience supporting Air Mobility Command operations or mission planning activities.
    • Experience developing or maintaining mission planning documentation, use cases, scenarios, or operational procedures.
    • Experience with JIRA, Confluence, SharePoint, and Learning Management Systems (LMS).
    • Prior military operational or instructor experience is highly desirable.
    • Familiarity with configuration management and document control processes.
    • CompTIA CTT+, Certified Technical Trainer, or equivalent instructor certification strongly preferred.
    • Military Instructor Certification or Master Instructor designation desired.
    • Additional instructional design, technical writing, or e-learning certifications are desirable.
