Based on course content, wages will range from $1,297.00 per credit to $3,753.00 per credit.
In certain instances, due to low enrollment, faculty payment will be based on part-time per credit pay and pro-rated on a 10% per student basis.
Part-time employees also receive some benefits depending on the number of hours worked.

Job Description:

The faculty member will conduct their assignments and co-curricular college activities in a manner consistent with the philosophy and purpose of Aims Community College as stated in the school catalog. The primary purpose of the faculty member is to teach.
We are seeking a dedicated Nurse Aide Faculty to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for teaching and training aspiring nurse aides in essential skills and knowledge required for their profession. The ideal candidate will possess strong clinical expertise, effective teaching abilities, and a passion for educating and mentoring future healthcare professionals. Occasional travel may be required.
Job Duties:
  • Provide effective and high-quality instruction; provide competent student advising; assist with refining and modernizing curriculum to be educationally sound and meet the high standards of the College; and develop curriculum as assigned.
  • Commit to the philosophy that each individual should be allowed an opportunity to succeed regardless of past experience, work as a team member as exhibited by a genuine spirit of cooperation and flexibility, establish and maintain positive yet professional interpersonal relationships with students, faculty, staff, and administration, take classes in teaching methods, curriculum development, computer applications, and other course work deemed necessary by the chair/dean, and embrace and apply the provisions of the College's Mission Statement, Purposes and Philosophy.
  • Maintain currency in the field of expertise and adopt new teaching methodology as appropriate.
  • Provide meaningful participation on College committees or organizations and participate in community service opportunities as assigned.
  • Teach on various campuses/outreach sites at various times, including evenings/weekends, as assigned along with advising of students.
  • Use alternative delivery technology (including online) in lecture and laboratory instruction to enhance student learning. If no knowledge of online teaching, acquire the knowledge and skills to do so. Initiate and maintain professional relationships with external agencies as needed.

Minimum Qualifications:
  • For the following courses: NUA 1001, 1070, 1071, 1074:
  • Associate degree in nursing plus 2,000 hours experience in caring for the elderly/chronically ill OR
  • LPN plus 2,000 hours experience in caring for the elderly/chronically ill.
  • For the following course: NUA 1075:
  • Associate degree in nursing plus 2,000 hours experience in caring for the elderly/chronically ill and 2,000 hours experience teaching adults and or supervising nurse aids.
  • Must be able to pass a pre-employment post-offer urine analysis.
  • Must hold CPR certification or qualify for the same within three (3) months of hire.
  • Evidence of prior teaching/training in health occupation related area(s).
  • Will have attended the "Train the Trainer" program or have demonstrated competence in teaching adult learners as defined by the Board of Nursing policy.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Nursing.
  • Bilingual in Spanish/English
  • Experience in a community college teaching environment, curriculum writing and alternative delivery instruction.
  • Five (5) years, or greater of patient-oriented nursing experience.
  • Computer literacy (Word, PowerPoint, D2L).

All required documents need to be submitted on every application. There is no way for Aims to attach these documents in the process. However, upon hire current Aims Community College Faculty are not required to submit transcripts if official transcripts are already on file.
