Job description

Quranic & Arabic/Tajweed Teacher (IWS โ€“ Sunday School)

We are seeking qualified and experienced Islamic and Quranic/Arabic teachers to join our Sunday School program. The schedule is as follows:

  • Islamic Session: 11:00 AM โ€“ 12:15 PM

  • Arabic/Quranic Session: 12:45 PM โ€“ 1:45 PM

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in Quranic studies, Tajweed, and Arabic language, along with excellent teaching and communication skills. Teachers will work in a classroom setting, engage with parents and colleagues during occasional meetings, and participate in staff development workshops.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Teach Quranic Arabic and Islamic studies to students of various ages, focusing on proper recitation, understanding, and application of the Quran.

  • Implement lesson plans and curriculum that integrate traditional and modern teaching methods.

  • Provide individualized attention and constructive feedback to assess and enhance student progress.

  • Foster a supportive, inclusive, and engaging learning environment.

  • Collaborate with fellow teachers and staff to maintain curriculum standards and educational initiatives.

  • Communicate regularly with parents and guardians to update them on student progress.

  • Stay current with developments in Quranic Arabic and Islamic teaching methodologies, applying best practices in instruction.

Teaching Schedule:

  • Sundays, Islamic Session: 11:00 AM โ€“ 12:15 PM

  • Sundays, Arabic/Quranic Session: 12:45 PM โ€“ 1:45 PM

  • Age range of students: 5โ€“18 years old

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelorโ€™s degree in Arabic Language, Quranic Studies, Islamic Education, or a related field.

  • Advanced certification in Quranic Arabic or Tajweed (e.g., Ijazah).

  • Proven experience teaching Quranic Arabic and/or Islamic studies to students of varying ages.

  • Proficiency in English with strong communication and interpersonal skills to engage students, parents, and colleagues from diverse backgrounds.
