What is AI Operations?

AI Operations, often referred to as AIOps, is the use of artificial intelligence and machine learning technologies to automate and enhance IT operations. It involves analyzing large volumes of data generated by IT systems to detect issues, predict outages, and automate responses. AIOps helps organizations improve efficiency, reduce downtime, and quickly resolve problems by providing actionable insights and automating repetitive tasks. This approach is increasingly important as IT environments become more complex and data-driven.

How does an AI Operations professional typically collaborate with data scientists and IT teams?

AI Operations professionals often act as a bridge between data science teams, who develop machine learning models, and IT teams, who manage infrastructure. They work closely to ensure models are deployed smoothly, monitored for performance, and integrated into production environments. Regular communication and troubleshooting are essential, as AI Ops professionals must understand both the technical requirements of the models and the operational constraints of the systems. This collaborative approach helps maintain reliability and scalability of AI solutions in a business setting.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as an AI Operations professional, and why are they important?

To thrive in AI Operations, you need a strong background in computer science, data analytics, and machine learning, often supported by a degree in a related field. Familiarity with tools like Python, TensorFlow, cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure), and experience with AI/ML monitoring systems is essential. Critical thinking, problem-solving, and effective communication are key soft skills for managing incidents and collaborating with cross-functional teams. These skills ensure the smooth deployment, monitoring, and optimization of AI systems, which are vital for operational reliability and business success.

What is the difference between Ai Operations vs Data Scientist?

AspectAi OperationsData Scientist
Required CredentialsCertifications in AI/ML, programming skillsStatistics, data analysis, programming
Work EnvironmentOperational teams, AI deployment, maintenanceResearch, data analysis, modeling
Industry UsageAI system management, deployment, monitoringData analysis, predictive modeling, research

Ai Operations focuses on managing and maintaining AI systems in production, ensuring their performance and reliability. Data Scientists primarily analyze data, develop models, and generate insights. While both roles require technical skills and programming knowledge, Ai Operations emphasizes deployment and operational stability, whereas Data Scientists focus on data analysis and model development.

Job description

The Company:

Faraday Future (FF) is a California-based embodied artificial intelligence ecosystem company, leveraging the latest technologies and world's best talent to realize exciting new possibilities in mobility and robotics. We're producing user-centric, technology-first vehicles and robots to establish new paradigms in human-AI interaction. We're not just seeking to change how our cars and robots work – we're seeking to change the way we drive and interact with machines. At FF, we're creating something new, something connected, and something with a true global impact.

Your Role:

We are looking for an AI-native talent who is passionate about leveraging cutting-edge AI tools to enhance operational efficiency and drive business growth. This role is ideal for someone who is highly curious, execution-driven, and interested in the intersection of AI and operations. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to integrate AI into daily workflows, optimize processes, and explore innovative ways to scale operations. Work at the forefront of AI-driven transformation. Opportunity to shape how AI is applied in real business operations. Fast learning curve and high-impact role. Collaborative and innovation-driven environment.

Responsibilities

  • Utilize AI tools to support and optimize daily operational workflows
  • Design and implement AI-driven solutions to improve efficiency across business processes
  • Assist in content generation, data analysis, workflow automation, and internal tooling using AI
  • Continuously explore and test new AI tools and use cases, turning them into practical operational applications
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify operational bottlenecks and solve them with AI
  • Monitor and evaluate the performance of AI-driven workflows and iterate for improvement
  • Build documentation and best practices for AI-enabled operations
  • Coordinate cross-departmental initiatives, aligning stakeholders across engineering, product, marketing, and business teams to drive shared goals and remove execution blockers
  • Tailor communication style and content to diverse audiences — from executive summaries and leadership briefings to technical specifications and team-level action plans — ensuring clarity and impact at every level
  • Own strategic project operations end-to-end: define project scope and milestones, leverage AI-powered tools (e.g., AI agents, automated dashboards, LLM-driven status reports) to track progress, surface risks in real time, and accelerate execution across complex, multi-stakeholder initiatives

Basic Qualifications:

  • 0–3 years of experience in operations, consulting, project management, or related fields
  • Bachelor's degree or above (tech-related preferred but not required)
  • Strong interest in AI technologies (e.g., ChatGPT, Claude, automation tools, AI agents, etc.)
  • Familiarity with AI tools or hands-on experience using them in projects is a strong plus
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to translate ideas into execution
  • High learning agility and curiosity; able to quickly adapt to new tools and environments
  • Demonstrated ability to collaborate across departments and manage cross-functional workflows with competing priorities
  • Strong tailored communication skills — able to frame messages clearly for different audiences, including executives, technical teams, and external partners
  • Passion for operations and improving efficiency
  • Comfortable with ambiguity and rapid iteration

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with no-code/low-code tools (e.g., Zapier, Notion AI, Airtable, etc.)
  • Basic understanding of data analysis or scripting
  • Experience in startup, tech, or fast-paced environments
  • Content creation or community operation experience
  • Proven track record managing strategic or cross-functional projects; experience using AI tools (e.g., AI-generated project trackers, automated reporting, LLM-assisted risk monitoring) to drive project visibility and execution speed

 Annual Salary Range:

($72,000 - $90,000 DOE), plus benefits and incentive plans

Perks + Benefits

  • Healthcare + dental + vision benefits (Free for you/discounted for family)
  • 401(k) options
  • Casual dress code + relaxed work environment
  • Culturally diverse, progressive atmosphere
