The AI Literacy Specialist is responsible for driving organizational understanding and effective use of artificial intelligence technologies.
Working closely with AI Product Managers, technical teams, and business stakeholders, the AI Literacy Specialist serves as a bridge between AI solutions and end users. The position promotes AI literacy across the organization by educating employees on responsible AI use, security considerations, governance requirements, and best practices.
The AI Enablement Specialist develops and maintains training materials, facilitates workshops and educational sessions, supports users during and after solution deployment, and gathers feedback to help improve training and educational resources. The position ensures employees have access to current information, practical guidance, and the knowledge needed to use AI technologies effectively and responsibly.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
EDUCATION, CERTIFICATION, AND/OR LICENSURE:
1. High school diploma AND four (4) years' experience in Statistics, Computer Science, Mathematics, Engineering, Data Science, healthcare information technology or a related field.
OR
2. Bachelor's degree in business, communications, information technology, education, or related field AND two (2) years' experience in Statistics, Computer Science, Mathematics, Engineering, Data Science, healthcare information technology, or relatable IT experience.
EXPERIENCE:
1. Internal employees must meet all mandatory competencies in current position to qualify for promotion within IT.
To be completed as established by department: (Administered at Department level)
This position will require additional certification in support of the responsibilities of the position, which will be provided by WVUHS Information Technology.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
EDUCATION, CERTIFICATION, AND/OR LICENSURE:
1. Master's degree in business, communications, information technology, education, or related field.
EXPERIENCE:
1. Experience developing and delivering IT training programs, workshops, educational content, or organizational learning initiatives.
2. Experience creating user guides, job aids, knowledge bases, e-learning content, or other educational resources.
3. Experience working within large healthcare, academic medical centers, or other regulated industries.

5. Provide end-user support, coaching, and guidance to promote effective and responsible use of AI technologies.
6. Educate employees on AI governance requirements, privacy considerations, security practices, and responsible AI principles.
7. Establish and facilitate AI communities of practice, user groups, and knowledge-sharing forums.
8. Gather user feedback, identify adoption barriers, and recommend improvements to training programs, communications, and support resources.
9. Monitor training participation, adoption metrics, and user engagement to evaluate program effectiveness and identify improvement opportunities.
10. Develop communications that promote awareness of AI capabilities, organizational initiatives, governance requirements, and success stories.
