Job description

Rogers Group, headquartered in Nashville, TN is a 115-year-old privately held aggregates and asphalt highway construction company with quarry and asphalt construction operations in 9 states with 3,000 employees. The company has the distinction of being recognized as the largest privately held crushed stone producer in the United States.

Rogers Group is currently seeking an individual to fill a MAINTENANCE TECHNICIAN position for our Jacks Mountain Quarry located in Glade Hill, VA. This individual will be responsible for performing fixed plant repairs in an aggregate processing facility and assisting with various production duties as needed.

The successful candidate for this position will have a strong background of experience in welding, fabrication, and fixed plant repair work and a strong commitment to safety excellence. Experience or background in metal fabrication, cutting, and machinery repair - is preferred.

Wages starting at $18.00/hr. Higher pay offered for experienced multi-craft maintenance professionals. Overtime available and extensive medical and retirement benefits are offered.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Uncompromising focus on safety excellence.
  • At least 1 year of previous professional welding experience is required - with emphasis on mig and stick welding.
  • Previous fixed plant maintenance or related industry experience is required.
  • Experience in steel erection/destruction - fabricating, cutting, fitting, and welding - is preferred.
  • Must have mechanical aptitude/ability to diagnose and perform plant repairs as needed.
  • Experience working with crushers, conveyors and screens is preferred but not required.
  • Previous mining/quarry/maintenance experience preferred but not required.
  • Self-motivated individual - must be able to perform required duties independently, without constant supervision.

  • Must be flexible on working hours and locations with the ability to adapt to different work environments.
  • May be called upon at the discretion of management to perform any other duties assigned and/or assist other areas as necessary.
  • Must be willing to work overtime, weekends, and nights when necessary.
  • Must be willing to work outside in a variety of conditions.
  • Must have a valid drivers license and clean motor vehicle record.
