*This position will range in salary starting at $44,833.00-$89,347.00/ annually
Duluth Public Schools is seeking a 0.5 FTE Agriculture, Food, and Natural Resources (AFNR) teacher for the upcoming school year. The AFNR department has experienced exponential growth and based on community interest and support, is expected to grow. Courses taught may include introduction to agriculture, ag economics, animal science, plant science, greenhouse operations, food science, ag construction, and ag welding. The program has a brand-new food science lab and operates a school greenhouse. AFNR program implements each of the three-components of the AFNR model including work-based learning through SAE projects and leadership development through FFA. The teacher will advise the school's successful FFA chapter. An extended contract of 10 days is available and an FFA advisor stipend is included with this position. Candidates must have a current agriculture teaching licenseย or a relevant industry certification/license, degree, or five years of industry experience related to agriculture, food, or natural resources. Additionally, the work-based learning (WBL) endorsement is strongly preferred, but not required."
