Lil Explorers is currently seeking a reliable and energetic Part-Time Afternoon Teacher to join our team. This position is Monday through Friday from 2:00 PM until closing, with availability to work Saturdays as needed.
Position Summary:
The Part-Time Afternoon Teacher will support classroom operations during afternoon transitions, assist with supervision, and help ensure a smooth and safe closing process each day.
Key Responsibilities:
• Supervise children during afternoon activities, centers, playground time, and dismissal.
• Maintain a safe and nurturing environment at all times.
• Assist lead teachers with classroom management and daily routines.
• Ensure proper child-to-teacher ratios are maintained.
• Help with end-of-day classroom organization and cleaning.
• Greet parents professionally during pick-up and provide brief updates as needed.
• Follow DCF regulations and center policies.
• Support closing procedures to ensure the center is secure at the end of the day.
• Be available to work Saturdays if scheduled.
Qualifications:
• DCF 45 hours completed 
• Experience working with young children preferred.
• CPR and First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain).
• Must meet DCF background screening requirements.
• Reliable, punctual, and flexible.
• Positive attitude and strong teamwork skills.
This position is ideal for someone who enjoys working with children and is looking for consistent afternoon hours in a supportive preschool environment.
