Job description

Job Title: Aftermarket Reline Rebuild Sales EngineerJob Description

This engineer will focus on supporting and growing the aftermarket business by developing technical solutions, quotations, and proposals for relines, rebuilds, and upgrades to customer equipment.

This role closely mirrors an applications engineering position but with a strong emphasis on aftermarket projects, customer interaction, and sales support.

  • Offers strong training, significant autonomy, and an excellent opportunity for a mechanically inclined engineer to expand their experience in sales and applications engineering.
Responsibilities
  • Work with customers, direct sales, and sales representatives to discuss, refine, and ultimately sell relines, rebuilds and upgrades to customer equipment
  • Interact with the customer and/or sales staff to review equipment specifications and customer requirements to develop accurate proposals/quotes
  • Prepare budgetary pricing and abbreviated proposals when requested to help qualify projects before investing greater resources which would be required to generate a detailed proposal with firm pricing
  • Generate detailed and accurate quotations/proposals with lead times to allow customers to purchase equipment
  • Create and maintain accurate and complete proposal templates
  • Determine accurate costs and ensure appropriate selling price based off company margin goals, or as directed otherwise by the Aftermarket Manage or General Manager
  • Review quoted/shipped job margins and provides detailed analysis on financials that have variances when requested
  • Work with with appropriate personnel in other departments, such as marketing, legal, and engineering, to provide technical information
  • Process purchase orders in ERP (currently AS400/BPCS) system and in Salesforce
  • Participate in meetings, seminars, trade shows, and training sessions to stay apprised of new developments, technologies, and components
  • Occasionally travel to customer sites to review applications or meet with local sales representative and/or Sales staff to discuss projects with customers
  • For projects handled direct (with no outside Sales Representative or Direct Sales Person), they will follow-up with the customer to confirm receipt of proposal, address any questions or concerns, and actively sell the proposed equipment meeting company standards, applicable codes, and customer specifications

Essential Skills

  • Bachelor's Degree - Mechanical Engineering
  • Ability to read, write and interpret engineering schematics - both mechanical and electrical
  • Project Management experience (experience managing their own projects and timelines through completion)
  • ERP experience
  • Experience working directly with customers
  • Ability to travel (up to 20%)
  • Ability to work independently and on team (verified through references)

"Nice to have" Skills & Qualifications

-Experience creating customer quotes and proposals

-Specific experience within AS400/BPCS or salesforce ERPs

Work Environment

When not traveling, the role is primarily office-based, with a typical work week of about 45 hours.

  • Travel, up to approximately 20%, is supported and paid for using a company card, and typically involves visiting customer sites, attending meetings, and participating in trade shows or training sessions.
  • The organization designs and manufactures industrial and laboratory ovens and furnaces, as well as environmental temperature cycling and stability test chambers, so the work environment centers on engineered thermal and environmental testing solutions.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $33.66 - $38.47/hr.
