Computer Science Teacher and Robotics Coach, Upper School

Position Summary: This position involves teaching Upper School Computer Science courses and coaching the Robotics program in grades 9-12. Courses include Introduction to Computer Science, AP Computer Science, Cyber Security, and Web Design. The opportunity is effective beginning August 1, 2026.
Specific Duties Include:
  • Lesson planning, teaching, and curriculum implementation for 5 courses
  • Coaching in the Upper School Robotics program while competing in local, state, and national US First Robotics competitions
  • Empower students to think critically and analytically in a problem-solving and exploratory environment
  • Requisitioning of instructional material as needed
  • Working collaboratively with the Computer Science department and Robotics program in order to improve the design of department courses, programs, and teacher instruction
  • Maintaining an outstanding and appropriate instructional environment within the Computer Science classes and the Robotics program
  • All other duties as assigned

Required Skills:
  • Possess a variety of skill sets across fields of Computer Science and Robotics
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, demonstrating tact and diplomacy
  • Competency with basic word processing, spreadsheets, and the internet
  • A solid understanding of learning challenges, as well as the accommodations and differentiated learning techniques to support students' needs
  • Strong organizational and classroom management skills
  • Teaching and directing experience with large groups of mixed-ability students

Minimum Job Qualifications:
  • A Bachelor's Degree and Master's degree preferred with significant coursework in robotics, computational thinking, Computer Science, Engineering, or STEM
  • Teaching experience preferred
  • Preference given to those willing and able to assume after school coaching responsibilities in the Robotics program

The Computer Science Teacher and Robotics Coach, Upper School position is an exempt, 10-month position.
