After School Cleaners are individuals responsible for cleaning and maintaining school facilities after students and staff have left for the day. Their duties typically include sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, emptying trash cans, cleaning restrooms, and sanitizing common areas. By ensuring the school environment is clean and safe, they play a crucial role in maintaining hygiene standards and preparing the school for the next day. These positions often require attention to detail, reliability, and the ability to work independently in the evenings or late afternoons.

What are the typical daily responsibilities of an after school cleaner, and how do they coordinate with school staff?

As an After School Cleaner, your daily tasks usually include sweeping, mopping, vacuuming classrooms and hallways, emptying trash bins, sanitizing high-touch surfaces, and replenishing supplies like soap and paper towels. You often work independently after students and teachers have left, but you may coordinate with school custodial staff or supervisors to receive instructions, report maintenance issues, or adjust cleaning schedules for special events. Clear communication with school staff ensures your work supports a safe and clean environment for the next school day.
