Job Summary:

The Assistant Facility Security Officer (AFSO) manages all aspects of the DoD Industrial Security Program for the InDyne facility they support, to include personnel security, document control, physical security, classification management, prime and subcontract DD Form 254 administration, and security education. Writes procedures and provides security guidance, education, and training to assigned personnel. Manages facility physical security, IDS, safe and document control. Have some familiarity with RMF process to participate in the development, configuration management, and approval of all information systems (IS).

Responsibilities

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

    Administering all security aspects for assigned programs to ensure compliance with NISPOM, federal security regulations and information security requirements.
  • Administering security programs and procedures for classified materials, documents, and equipment.
  • Preparing manuals and establishing processes and procedures for OPSEC, Emergency Action, facility security and handling, storing, and maintaining classified materials.
  • Conducting meetings, security education classes and security audits, as required.
  • Reviewing initial pre-screening questionnaires of new hire candidates. Processing all clearance actions in accordance with government and company PERSEC procedures.
  • Working knowledge of all RMF requirements for standalone systems. Ensuring compliance with all required government information system reporting and requirements.
  • Familiar with classification management process and classification guides associated with DoD information.
  • Conduct security education and awareness training, investigating security violations and incidents, and preparing reports specifying preventive action.
  • Strong knowledge of Government databases: eAPP, NISS, DISS, NBIS or other assigned government systems.
  • Familiarity with the eMASS database for Information Systems (IS).
  • DD254 management and implementation, as required.

Qualifications

Educational/Training Requirements:

  • Minimum of 5 years' work experience. Bachelor's degree in business management, criminal justice or related discipline is desired. Will consider additional work experience in lieu of a degree.
  • In-depth knowledge of 32 CFR part 117-NISPOM, Executive Orders, and DoD Directives.
  • Demonstrated excellent judgment and decision-making skills.
  • Ability to analyze problems and identify solutions.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills. Ability to develop and render concise reports, summaries and formal presentations.
  • Must have strong knowledge of the entire Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.

Clearance Requirements:

  • Currently hold or be able to obtain and maintain the proper US DoD issued security clearance, which requires US Citizenship. Security clearance eligibility may be discussed during the interview phase.
  • Employment and start date is contingent upon the candidate receiving the required US DoD issued interim security clearance.

Work Environment:

  • Work assignment is generally in an office setting.

  • Some travel may be required.
