Job description

We are seeking a passionate and innovative Sous Chef / Head Chef to lead and elevate our Afro-Fusion fine dining kitchen. This role requires a creative culinary leader with deep respect for African culinary traditions and the technical precision of modern fine dining. The ideal candidate blends heritage flavors with contemporary presentation, delivering refined, memorable dining experiences.

Key Responsibilities

Culinary Leadership

  • Design and execute seasonal Afro-Fusion tasting menus and à la carte offerings

  • Modernize traditional African dishes while maintaining authenticity and cultural integrity

  • Lead daily kitchen operations with a fine dining standard of excellence

  • Ensure consistency in taste, plating, and presentation

  • Oversee prep, service, and post-service breakdown

Kitchen Management

  • Supervise and train kitchen staff, fostering a culture of discipline and creativity

  • Manage food costs, inventory, supplier relationships, and ordering

  • Maintain strict hygiene and food safety standards (HACCP compliant)

  • Collaborate with front-of-house leadership to ensure seamless guest experience

Innovation & Development

  • Research African regional cuisines and ingredients to inspire menu development

  • Introduce modern techniques (fermentation, sous vide, molecular elements where appropriate)

  • Participate in tastings, pop-ups, and culinary events

  • Mentor junior chefs in Afro-Fusion culinary techniques

Required Qualifications

We also have an event space that host private parties and events. In addition, we are a destination establishment with shows and bands lined up.
