Position Summary
Magellan Aerospace, Haverhill is a world-class manufacturer of precision machined aerospace components. We have an exciting opportunity for Manager of Engineering. The primary responsibility of a Manager of Engineering, Manage and lead the activities of the manufacturing engineering group to ensure their support and effort in meeting company goals and objectives. Drive necessary technical, engineering, organization and process changed required to manufacture quality products on time and cost effective. Provide company-wide technical and managerial leadership across functional teams focusing on product quality, continuous improvement, cost containment and process excellence.
The Salary Range for this Position is $130,000 - $155,000 annually
Essential Responsibilities
  • Manage all engineering activities and resources to ensure that manufacturing process, equipment, material and techniques for each manufactured part are reliable, cost effective and validated. Lead technical reviews, design reviews and new product introduction.
  • Create state of the art engineering infrastructure including people, processes, equipment, tools and design capabilities. Lead with best practices methodology and implementation.
  • Retain, hire, develop and lead a technical proficient staff of engineers dedicated to achieving goals of the company.
  • Actively interface with customers on product issues, concurrent manufacturing efforts, corrective actions, problem solving and business development needs.
  • Manage multiple engineering projects by maintaining schedules, allocating resources, determining priorities and delivering results.
  • Team with suppliers to optimize manufacturing processes, reduce cost and research new materials and processes.
  • Research, recommend and implement new technologies. Complete capital equipment procurement on schedule and within budget.

Position Requirements
  • BS in mechanical or manufacturing engineering or equivalent experience.
  • A minimum of 7 years of manufacturing experience.
  • Experience with engineering methodology, manufacturing processes, technology and product design.
  • Proficient with a wide range of computer software impacting functions from product design, machining, cost modeling and management presentations.
  • Proven leadership skills with a depth of experience that cross functional lines within an organization and deliver company-wide results.
  • Proven record of accomplishments in an engineering management role within precision machining manufacturing environment.
  • Ability to effectively interface with customers and suppliers to solve problems, improve manufacturing capability and develop business opportunities.
