Job description

What you can expect as an Aerospace Engineer Intern at DAS Aviation:
This is an hourly, non-exempt entry-level Engineering Department Intern position. Job duties will include but not limited to preparation of engineering drawings to support company projects and maintenance and care of the department's 3D printer. Job duties will vary each day and will encompass projects as designated by the Engineering Program Manager. The person in this position will be required to work independently at times and to be involved in multiple projects at the same time. Unfailing integrity is a must. Assisting Team Leaders and technicians in support of program are critical. Job duties will vary each day.
You will be ESSENTIAL to many FUNCTIONS including:
  • Creating and submitting engineering drawings and illustrations on CAD software.
  • Maintaining the departmental 3D printer.
  • Work independently on projects as assigned.
  • Any other job-related duties as assigned by supervisor or manager
  • Must be able to fluently read, write, speak, and understand the English language.

What you'll need to bring with you:
Your Education
High school diploma or equivalent.
One year completed in Engineering or related technical course work.
A valid driver's license approved for airline travel and/or a valid passport is ideal but not required.
Your Experience
AutoCAD and/or SolidWorks or related CAD software experience preferable (including CAD coursework).
Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite.
Experience with aircraft maintenance and repair helpful.
Your Initiative
We're looking for team players who are self-motivated and able to perform in a fast-paced environment where working under specific deadlines and time constraints will be common.
Your Sense of Responsibility
Attend work every day as scheduled to include overtime and weekend assignments.
Notify supervisor in advance of shift starting if unable to work.
You must have reliable transportation to get to work each day.
Perform all work in accordance with Federal Aviation Administration guidelines.
Follow all company and safety rules during performance of duties.
Maintain customer-oriented work habits.
Physical Requirements
Lift at least 50 lbs.
Routine walking, bending and squatting or sitting.
Routing or repetitive physical motion with arms and hands.
Mental Requirements
Understanding and implementation of regulations and guidelines.
Exercise good judgment in determining activities and tasks, as needed, to properly complete assignments
Possess strong organizational and time management skills
Proficiency in reading/researching aircraft technical data, as required, (Practical Exam to be given).
