What is an adventure coordinator?

An Adventure Coordinator is a professional who plans, organizes, and oversees adventure activities and experiences, such as outdoor excursions, team-building events, and travel programs. They are responsible for ensuring the safety and enjoyment of participants by managing logistics, coordinating with guides, and adhering to safety protocols. Adventure Coordinators often work for travel companies, resorts, or event organizations, and must have strong organizational and communication skills, as well as knowledge of outdoor activities.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as an adventure coordinator?

To thrive as an Adventure Coordinator, you need strong organizational skills, outdoor leadership experience, and often a background in recreation management or a related field. Familiarity with booking systems, GPS navigation tools, and certifications in first aid or wilderness safety are typically required. Job description

About Rivian

Rivian is on a mission to keep the world adventurous forever. This goes for the emissions-free Electric Adventure Vehicles we build, and the curious, courageous souls we seek to attract.

As a company, we constantly challenge what’s possible, never simply accepting what has always been done. We reframe old problems, seek new solutions and operate comfortably in areas that are unknown. Our backgrounds are diverse, but our team shares a love of the outdoors and a desire to protect it for future generations.

Role Summary

The Sr. Lead, Service Aftermarket Revenue Strategy role is a central connector across teams, bringing the organization, coordination, and prioritization needed to keep many moving pieces aligned toward the same outcome. This is an individual contributor role: you'll need to flex comfortably between enabling others and diving into the work directly, acting with urgency for progress against the objective either way. Oftentimes, execution sits with cross-functional teams, so the ability to influence outcomes without direct authority is critical.

The role is two-fold:

  • Oversee the big picture strategy of the Service aftermarket revenue (~80% of the role):
    • Drive and own the tools for tracking revenue progress in aggregate to steer the multi-year direction.
    • Enable and support cross-functional initiative owners through reviews or analyses to ensure consistency of rigor and approach.
    • Own or help incubate early-stage revenue initiatives while a formal business owner is being identified.
  • Provide general leadership support across the broader Service Strategy & Business Insights organization (~20% of the role).

Responsibilities

Overseeing Service Aftermarket Revenue (~80%)

  • Stand-Up & Multi-Year Strategy
  • Develop and steer the multi-year revenue strategy.
  • Develop and own aggregate reporting across the portfolio of revenue initiatives, end-to-end from business case development through execution.
  • Partner with Finance to track revenue progress against forecast and targets.
  • Use AI to rapidly stand up dashboards, trackers, and reporting, freeing time for strategy over manual upkeep.
  • Turn complex financial and operational data into clear, structured narratives and dashboards for leadership visibility and reviews.

Enabling Cross-Functional Initiative Owners

  • Partner with initiative owners across Field Service, Service Programs, Finance, and Commercial Technology, building trust and alignment without formal authority.
  • Hold reviews with initiative owners to pressure test business cases, ensuring consistency of rigor and approach through feedback.
  • Advocate at the cross-Service level to unblock dependencies and remove friction, serving as the escalation point for complex issues and resolving them with urgency.
  • Apply first-principles thinking to challenge legacy assumptions and resolve bottlenecks.

Owning or Incubating Early-Stage Initiatives

  • When needed, push through ambiguity to directly own or incubate early-stage business cases or initiatives before a formal owner is identified.

Providing General Leadership Support across the Service Strategy & Business Insights organization (~20%)

  • Ensure cross-team coordination and readiness for team meetings, executive reviews, business reviews.
  • Provide ad hoc analysis and thought partnership to the leader of the Service Strategy & Business Insights team.

Qualifications
  • 7–10 years in program leadership, corporate strategy, consulting, or business operations, including 5+ years supporting executive decision-making; vehicle service or automotive aftermarket experience preferred.
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Strategy, Economics, or a related field; MBA preferred.
  • Strong business acumen, with demonstrated proficiency in P&L levers and business case modeling.
  • Proven ability to influence without direct authority across cross-functional teams.
  • Comfortable using AI tools to rapidly build trackers, dashboards, and reporting (a technical or coding background is not required, though it's a bonus).
  • Proficient in Google Workspace (Sheets, Slides).
  • The majority of working hours should align with Pacific Time, with flexibility to support cross-functional team members across other US time zones as needed.
  • Ability to stand, sit, or walk for 8-10 hours per day.
  • Required to communicate using phone and/or e-mail.
  • Ability to view, read, and interpret documents.
  • Ability to perform all duties in an office environment that may contain ambient noise and temperature fluctuations.
