About Aiona

Opening in March 2026 in the heart of downtown Sacramento, Aiona is a bold new culinary destination celebrating the vibrant traditions of Mediterranean cuisine through the ancient art of wood-fired cooking. Featuring an open kitchen, a 3,000-bottle wine cellar curated by an Advanced Sommelier, and refined indoor and outdoor dining spaces, Aiona offers an immersive, upscale experience unlike anything else in the city.
Our mission is to bring world-class food, wine, and hospitality to Sacramento while becoming a premier destination for dining and private events.
Position Overview

Aiona is seeking focused, energetic, and detail-oriented Food Runners to join our opening front-of-house team. This role is critical to ensure food leaves the kitchen accurately, efficiently, and at peak quality during lunch and dinner service.
Food Runners serve as a key communication link between the kitchen and front-of-house, helping deliver a smooth, well-paced guest experience during lunch and dinner service.
Key Responsibilities

  • Run food from the kitchen to the dining room quickly and accurately
  • Ensure dishes are complete, properly garnished, and match ticket details before leaving the pass
  • Communicate clearly with chefs, servers, and managers regarding timing and special requests
  • Call out orders and coordinate pacing from the expo line as directed
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of the expo station and service areas
  • Assist with table maintenance, pre-bussing, and guest needs when not running food
  • Support opening, side work, and closing duties as assigned
Service Standards & Team Collaboration

  • Uphold Aionas hospitality standards and attention to detail
  • Maintain awareness of ticket times and table pacing
  • Work collaboratively with BOH and FOH teams to ensure seamless service
  • Follow all food safety, sanitation, and workplace safety guidelines
  • Participate in pre-shift meetings and menu education
Qualifications

  • Previous food running, expo, or restaurant experience preferred, but not required
  • Strong sense of urgency and attention to detail
  • Ability to multitask and stay calm in a fast-paced environment
  • Clear communication skills and teamwork-oriented mindset
  • Professional appearance and positive attitude
  • Availability for lunch and dinner shifts, including weekends and holidays
