Job Summary:
Supervise a team of Three employees to operate AF and TF Furnace, quench barrel and straightener from pulpit control station.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Monitors and adjusts furnaces and related equipment to ensure products are treated to meet customer and internal specifications.
  • Operates heating, cooling, and transport equipment in a safe and efficient manner within manufacturer guidelines.
  • Performs various inspection tasks of equipment and products to promote sustained quality and stability of the entire heat treating line.
  • Accurately and timely records/reports data to department leaders.
  • Utilizes computer systems and various software to proficiently track the entire process and adjust parameters.
  • Maintain an orderly, safe working environment.
  • Performs other related duties as required.
  • Other duties as assigned

Minimum Education and/or Experience Requirements:
Education: High School or equivalent
Years of Experience: 2+ years heat treating steel products preferable tubular goods
Number of Direct Reports: 3-5
Job Titles of Direct Reports: Straightener operator, Stenciled operator, Furnace operator

  • Reasoning Ability: Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
  • Other Skills and Abilities: Must be computer literate and able to work with programs such as Word, Excel, etc., and be able to learn and use HP programs such as e-mail, ERP system, etc.
