Polymer Concepts Technologies PBY, Inc. KRS Division dba Kaydon Ring amp; Seal (โ€œKRSโ€) is responsible for Aerospace and Industrial applications. KRS has a customer portfolio that includes all major players in the Aerospace and Industrial industries. Our business is fully customer focused, with products specifically designed for an engine/airframe application and then produced in small quantities and small lots on highly flexible equipment. Extreme product range fragmentation, complex product design, very high-quality standards and traceability requirements are the peculiarity of KRS.
Job Summary: The Heat Treat Engineer provides support to Quality, Leadership, Maintenance, and Manufacturing Engineering to maintain high-performing assets, and processes. Works directly with the operators to ensure the furnaces are running properly.

Essential Job Functions:

  • Reads complex specifications, and ensures process adherence.
  • Communicates with vendors.
  • Investigates heat-treat related equipment failures to determine root cause, and corrective actions.
  • Works with Quality, Leadership, Maintenance, and Manufacturing Engineering to maintain high-performing assets, and processes.
  • Identifies potential failure modes, and develops counteractions.
  • Recommends critical spare parts.
  • Recommends PMโ€™s, and TPMโ€™s.
  • Reads/understands all critical internal, and external documentation.
  • Develops, and updates technical, and detailed work instructions.
  • Maintains audit-quality records.
  • Engages with continuous improvement projects.
  • Performs research for new technologies, assets, techniques, and/or processes.
  • Strong communication.

Additional Duties:

  • Perform other related duties as assigned, consistent with business needs.

Minimum Requirements:

  • A.S. or B.S. Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering or other relevant/related degree and minimum of three (3) years' experience working within a processing engineering role or HSD/GED and minimum of ten (10) years' experience working in a heat treat processing tec
  • Minimum latitude for unreviewed action/decision making.
  • Advanced level of mechanical aptitude and comprehension.
  • Must be able to effectively interact with all levels of the organization and with customers and to communicate effectively either orally or in writing.
  • Candidate MUST be a U.S. Person to comply with ITAR regulations.
  • Exposure to NADCAP.
  • Technical understanding of heat treat furnaces, heat treat controllers, heat, treat processes, and quench methods.
