What you'll do:ย You'llย report toย theย centerย director and directlyย superviseย theย clerk,ย RN,ย TEAPย specialist,ย physician,ย PA/NP,ย physician and mental health consultant. You'll provide daily management and oversight of all health and wellness center activities and health and wellness staff including subcontracted providers.ย Involved in the center disability programย asย theย medicalย co-disabilityย coordinator.ย Responsibleย forย allย administrativeย requirementsย andย assuring compliance with Department of Labor (DOL) and MTC requirements.

Essential Functions: ย ย ย  ย 

  1. Plan,ย coordinateย andย superviseย theย administrativeย andย programmaticย activitiesย ofย theย department.
  2. Evaluateย staffย performance,ย provideย staffย trainingย forย wellnessย staffย asย wellย asย requiredย trainingsย forย new hires and all center staff.
  3. Develop departmental budget in collaboration with the finance & administration director.ย Monitor and controlย expendituresย andย reviewย andย recommendย changesย asย needed.ย Review,ย approve,ย andย submitย all paymentย requestsย fromย outsideย vendorsย andย subcontractedย wellnessย staffย toย theย financeย departmentย for payment.
  4. Develop and implement new and revised standard operating procedures (SOPs) for the wellness department.ย Trainย andย coordinateย withย otherย departmentsย toย ensureย complianceย withย overallย center objectives.
  5. Review and audit all assigned areas regularly, or at least monthly per MTC's data integrity policy, for contractual compliance.ย Implement a continuous quality improvement program to identify needed improvementsย andย employย mechanismsย toย improveย complianceย andย assureย deliveryย ofย qualityย andย effective services to students.
  6. Manageย andย conductย coordinatedย healthย careย forย studentsย andย implementationย ofย otherย healthย related programs, including medical, mental health, and substance abuse services.ย Assure chronic care management of all students with chronic illnesses.
  7. Assureย thatย clinicalย services,ย includingย medicationย managementย areย withinย healthย staff'ย scopeย ofย practice and within federal, state, and local regulations and statutes.
  8. In collaboration with human resources and procurement staff, assure all staff' credentials meet DOL requirementsย forย theirย positionย andย theyย haveย aย current activeย licenseย and/orย certificationย requiredย forย their position, maintaining a copy of all credentials in the wellness center.
  9. Prepareย andย submitย requiredย reportsย withinย requiredย timeframe.
  10. Manageย theย recordย keepingย andย reportingย ofย studentย injuriesย inย theย systemย providedย byย DOL.
  11. Provideย directionย andย technicalย assistanceย inย allย requiredย healthย relatedย programs.
  12. Provideย nursingย careย forย studentsย asย needed.
  13. Asย required,ย takeย after-hourย phoneย callsย fromย non-healthย staffย forย students'ย medicalย symptomsย notย covered under the symptomatic management guidelines (SMGs) or directed calls per the SMG.
  14. Participatesย inย anย on-callย rotationย asย assignedย andย isย availableย outsideย ofย regularlyย scheduledย workย hoursย to provide consultation, guidance, and support for urgent situations. On call responsibilities are limited to consultation and decision-making support unless otherwise directed by management.
  15. Developmentย ofย communityย linkagesย forย healthย andย disabilityย resources.

Education and Experience Requirements:

Active, unrestricted registered nurse license in the state of employment and three years related experience, oneย ofย whichย shouldย beย inย aย supervisoryย capacity.ย Experienceย workingย withย youthย inย aย paidย orย unpaidย capacity isย preferred.ย Mustย haveย excellent writtenย andย verbalย communicationย skillsย andย computerย proficiencyย required. Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record.
