What is an adult nanny?

Adult nannies are professional caregivers who provide support and assistance to adults, often seniors or individuals with disabilities, in their daily lives. Their responsibilities can include companionship, help with personal care, meal preparation, light housekeeping, transportation, and medication reminders. Unlike medical professionals, adult nannies typically do not provide medical care but focus on enhancing their clients' quality of life and independence. Responsibilities and Duties
WHO/WHAT: Flexible schedule? Check. Respectful, easygoing teenagers? Check. A genuinely kind family hoping to find their next trusted right-hand person? BIG check. Dad is searching for a warm, adaptable, emotionally intelligent nanny/family assistant to help support his close-knit family of three as they navigate a very full season of life together. His two teenagers (ages 12 and 15) are creative, compassionate, kind kids who stay busy with theater, music, instruments, outdoor adventures, and school activities. They're the kind of teenagers who can absolutely stay home alone for stretches of time, but still deeply benefit from having a trusted adult nearby helping life run smoothly.
This role is intentionally flexible and could work beautifully alongside another part-time or full-time position. Dad travels for work approximately 1-2x per month, typically requiring 2-4 consecutive overnights at a time (guest bed and bath is provided for you!). Outside of travel, the family would love support 1-2 evenings per week helping with transportation to activities, light meal prep, tidying, laundry, grocery pickup, vacuuming, sweeping, and simply helping the household exhale a little. Dad is very willing to work collaboratively around the right person's schedule and would happily continue offering hours during non-travel weeks so the kids can build a comfortable, long-term relationship with you over time. Weeks dad travels will typically be 30 hours and the other weeks of the month will average about 8 hours a week.
This is far less of a "traditional nanny" role and much more of a trusted support position. The two teens are independent overall, but the past few years have stretched this family in difficult ways, so warmth, kindness, patience, and emotional safety matter enormously here. Finding someone who is naturally affirming, accepting, and supportive of the LGBTQ community is essential. They're looking for someone who can become a calm, dependable presence woven naturally into the rhythm of their lives over the coming years. So if you're the kind of person who can seamlessly shift from driving to theater rehearsal to folding laundry while chatting about music or helping prep tacos for dinner, then we want to meet you so APPLY TODAY!
THE IDEAL NANNY IS...WARM. You're the kind of person teenagers actually talk to-not because you force it, but because you make people feel comfortable simply by being yourself. Flexible, trustworthy, emotionally intelligent, and communicative, you understand that support roles often matter most in the small moments. You're equally comfortable helping with practical household tasks as you are being a steady, reassuring adult presence in the home.
You're adaptable and independent without being rigid or overbearing. You respect teenagers' growing independence while still offering structure, consistency, humor, and kindness. This family truly hopes to find someone long-term-someone who values genuine connection and wants to become part of a close-knit, resilient family's support system for years to come. If your strengths shine brightest in connection driven, relationship centered roles like this one, then APPLY TODAY!
