Job description

Adult Literacy Instructor
We assist adult learners to realize their potential as confident, self-sufficient, and productive employees, supportive parents, and engaged community members. Mission: Advancing literacy through training, tutoring, English language acquisition and advocacy for all Delawareans. Vision: Empowering all Delawareans through Literacy.
Member Duties : This position will provide direct support to adult learners throughout the state of Delaware. Duties include but are not limited to developing lesson plans, conducting one-on-one tutoring sessions, and facilitating small class instruction, overall support of Literacy Delaware programming. • Conduct initial learner assessments and benchmark learners • Prepare and facilitate lesson plans tailored to learners needs and goals • Coach and instruct learners one-on-one and in small groups over a wide spectrum of literacy needs • Assist adult learners in setting and meeting their goals • Collaborate with and maintain relationships with community partners and local libraries • Communicate regularly with coordinators on learner needs, attendance and other pertinent information • Support the tracking and reporting of data • Assist with learner and volunteer recruitment, recognition, and engagement efforts
