West Kentucky Educational Cooperative Adult Education

West Kentucky Educational Cooperative is seeking a dedicated Adult Education Instructor to support
learners as they build skills, earn credentials, and pursue new opportunities.

Position Details

  • Title: Adult Education Instructor
  • Reports to: Director of Adult Education
  • Location: Henderson County Adult Education Center
  • Schedule: Full-time 37.5 hours per week
  • Compensation: Competitive, based on experience and WKEC AE certified salary schedule

Primary Responsibilities

  • Provide instruction in literacy, math, GED preparation, English language acquisition, digital
    literacy, and workforce readiness
  • Deliver engaging lessons aligned with College and Career Readiness Standards (CCRS)
  • Use assessments (TABE 13/14, diagnostic tools) to guide instruction and track progress
  • Integrate research-based instructional practices and technology
  • Customize workforce-aligned curriculum and support students career goals
  • Participate in ongoing professional learning
  • Collaborate on curriculum development and innovative instructional materials
  • Provide GED instruction in the local jail
  • Perform additional duties as assigned

Qualifications

  • Bachelors degree in education or a related field
  • Strong reading and math skills (NRS Level 6 on TABE 13/14 A required)
  • Knowledge of CCR Standards preferred
  • Proficient with digital tools and technology
  • Experience with adult or non-traditional learners preferred
  • Commitment to student success, adaptability, and continuous improvement
