Job description

Faith Formation Assistant, Full-time (35 hrs./wk.)

Reports to: Business Manager

Location: San Marco Catholic Church | Marco Island, Florida

Overview

San Marco Catholic Church is looking for a Part-time Administrative Assistant to the Faith Formation Office. This position will carry out administrative tasks of the Faith Formation Office under the supervision of the Director of Religious Education.

Job Responsibilities

  • Maintain registration and attendance records/reports/rosters for children, youth, and adults.
  • Assist during Faith Formation/Sacramental Preparation /Youth Ministry sessions from setup to dismissal (including reminders, copies, classroom/teacher set-up, and check-in/attendance), including leading classes and small groups as needed.
  • Communicate regarding Faith Formation/Sacramental Preparation policies and procedures via phone, email, text, and letter.
  • Produce Faith Formation announcements such as the bulletin, website, and social media, program calendars, and special event publicity.
  • Maintain adult and teen volunteer records and reports.
  • Assist and coordinate with office volunteers.
  • Procurement of resources and supplies: maintain inventory, place and track orders.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Must be a practicing Roman Catholic with a basic understanding of and an agreement with Catholic Theology.
  • Experience in Religious Education and/or ministry leadership.
  • Computer skills, including MS Office software (Word, Publisher, Outlook, SharePoint on the Cloud), Google Sheets, and general office routines such as filing, planning, organizing, phone etiquette, follow-up documentation.
  • Willingness and ability to become Certified Catechist per DOV guidelines.
  • Bi-lingual communication skills: speaking, reading, and writing fluently in English and Spanish is preferred.
