Position Summary
The Clinical Law Program at the UNM School of Law is a law firm where advanced law students represent clients under the supervision of Law School faculty who are licensed attorneys.
We are seeking a professional, highly organized individual with strong communication skills to join our administrative support team. This position plays a critical role in the day-to-day operations of a busy academic legal office and provides direct administrative support to multiple law practice areas.
Key administrative support duties include:
  • Greet visitors, answer phones, and maintain a professional and welcoming front desk environment
  • Communicate effectively with faculty, staff, students, clients, and members of the public
  • Administer the lifecycle of confidential client files through an online case management system
  • Provide consistent procedural guidance to clinical law students regarding administrative processes, file maintenance, and office practices
  • Maintain confidentiality and exercise sound judgment when handling sensitive information
  • Apply established law office procedures accurately, consistently, and with attention to detail

This position offers the opportunity to support meaningful client representation and student learning by contributing to our collaborative legal/academic program.

Minimum Qualifications
High school diploma or GED; at least 5 years of experience directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified.
Completed degree(s) from an accredited institution that are above the minimum education requirement may be substituted for experience on a year for year basis.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Administrative support experience in an office or educational environment requiring accuracy, attention to detail, and adherence to established procedures
  • Experience with electronic and/or physical records management
  • Ability to work effectively with individuals at all levels of an organization while following defined workflows and office practices
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to prepare clear and accurate emails and office correspondence
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office or Microsoft 365 in a professional setting
  • Experience maintaining confidentiality of sensitive information
