About Washington Intern Student Housing (WISH):


Washington Intern Student Housing (WISH) is the largest and most popular intern housing program in DC. For over 30 years, weโ€™ve provided intern and student properties in historic neighborhoods, and opportunities to meet and network at WISH social and professional development events. 


Title: Marketing and Social Media Intern 


Responsibilities:


โ€ข Write and distribute press releases

โ€ข Compose monthly WISH newsletters

โ€ข Research for media opportunities to publicize the WISH community

โ€ข Work with the team on a variety of tasks and the marketing and sales process

โ€ข Attend and participate in meetings

โ€ข Attend various events and meetings with WISH staff. Such events may include meetings, receptions, dinners, etc.

โ€ข Develop marketing materials

โ€ข Assist in business development and prospect research that would expand the WISH footprint.

โ€ข Participate in outreach to schools, government, and D.C. based organizations

โ€ข Attend events on weeknights or weekends as WISH representative

โ€ข Work with the Intern team on various projects and WISH intern community events.

โ€ข Work with staff and volunteers on event day to make the WISH event a success

โ€ข Participate in social media meetings, interpret analytics and reports

โ€ข Develop social media content

โ€ข Work with the Social Media/SEO/SEM Consulting Team to enhance the WISH social media 

and digital footprint

โ€ข Attend and contribute to event planning meetings

โ€ข Plan Semester Events to promote community, networking, professional and social opportunities

โ€ข Develop and manage event budgets, RSVP lists, and related schedules

โ€ข Oversee and assist in the design of social media content, flyers, and other marketing material for events

โ€ข Office and administrative duties as assigned


Compensation:

Free furnished housing in a double-occupancy bedroom at a WISH location in Washington, D.C.

or stipend wage.

Summer: Fall Semester, August through December
