JOB DESCRIPTION
Position Title: Full Time Substitute Teacher - Benjamin/Fairview
Location: Benjamin/Fairview Elementary School
Department: Building Personnel
Reports to: Building Principal(s)
FLSA Class: Non-Exempt
SUMMARY
This full time Substitute Teacher position is responsible for providing classroom instruction and support to Unit 5 students five days a week. While this position will be assigned Evans Junior High School, this individual will be utilized to support all classrooms in the building. This position will be for the duration of the 26-27 school year only.
DUTIES
  1. Assume duties of the classroom teacher in accordance with school district lesson plans and school rules.
  2. Leading instruction in the classroom by following the teacher's lesson plans and/or creating lesson plans.
  3. Instructing students on a variety of classroom topics.
  4. Building positive relationships.
  5. Motivate students to learn, and encourage classroom participation.
  6. Create a classroom environment that's conducive to learning and appropriate for the students.
  7. Adapt to the various learning styles and social needs of students.
  8. Maintain order in the classroom and demonstrate confidence working with students with varying strengths and skills.

QUALIFICATIONS
  1. Bachelor's Degree or higher.
  2. Ability to obtain and maintain the Substitute License through the Regional Office of Education (ROE #17).
  3. Ability to be on your feet for long periods of time.
  4. Enforce school regulations and policies in a professional manner.
  5. Ability to maintain good working relationships with fellow employees and pupils.

SCHEDULING
The work hours of this position would range from 7:25 to 3:45. Although this position is homebased at a specific elementary school, Administration may temporarily assign the Substitute to another building if needed.
COMPENSATION
Fully board paid medical, dental, and vision. The hourly rate for this position is $25.00/hour.
