Managed Services Engineer

The Managed Services Engineer is a highly motivated and adaptable professional who consults with existing and prospective clients on managed data networks, firewalls, cybersecurity, and other information technology solutions. Exemplary customer service is essential, as this role is responsible for maintaining and monitoring networks and systems for a diverse and distinguished client base. The Engineer must be well organized, as daily responsibilities range from designing and implementing complex technical solutions—such as data networking, Wi‐Fi deployments, surveillance systems, access control, and virtual server environments—to troubleshooting and analyzing issues within enterprise-level environments.

Responsibilities include understanding and relating to others, design specifications, technical requirements, and technical diagrams. Maintain a strong technical knowledge of Microsoft Server technologies including Hyper-V, server administration, Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, file and print services, etc. Working knowledge of network and system monitoring solutions including Zabbix and Nagios. Working experience with interoffice applications such as Teams, email, billing and mapping systems and other operational tools. Top Tier support for high profile customers as well as support for field technicians. Prioritize responsibilities as well as create and track tickets in the designated software system while responding to tickets/alerts in a proactive manner. Installation and administration of customer data networks including but limited too, firewalls, switches, routers, wireless, cybersecurity posture, phones, cameras, while maintaining proper customer documentation and training.

Working knowledge of Microsoft Windows server technologies including virtualization technologies like Hyper-V and VMWare, server administration and Active Directory. Must have understanding and experience with network fundamentals, administration of Web servers, firewalls, application gateways, and data encryption. Working knowledge of current data backup strategies and software technologies. Experience with Microsoft Office 365 Administration and installation. Working knowledge of LAN/WAN troubleshooting, DHCP, DNS, SNMP, NAT, QoS, tcpdump and wireshark required. Strong working knowledge of the OSI model, vlan management, and routing required.

Associate degree in computer science or related field preferred but will consider equivalent combinations of education and experience. Three or more years of experience in IP network operations, WAN and LAN technologies and protocols. Advanced knowledge of CIDR notation and experience with IP subnetting a must. Must have advanced experience in server and network troubleshooting techniques.

Cisco CCNA, Fortinet NSE 4, Network+ or Security+ certifications preferred
