Qualifications: Candidates must hold a South Carolina principal's certificate at the secondary level. A minimum of three years of successful experience in public school education. Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the Board may find appropriate and acceptable.
Performance Responsibilities:
  1. Serves as principal in the absence of the regular principal.
  2. Assists with the preparation of student schedules.
  3. Cooperates in conducting safety inspections and fire drill activities.
  4. Assists in evaluations and observations of all personnel within the school.
  5. Supervises the reporting and monitoring of student attendance and works with the attendance supervisor in investigative follow-up actions.
  6. Assists in preparation of teacher and student handbooks.
  7. Aids in the scheduling of extra-curricular activities of the school.
  8. Supervises conduct within the school and oversees disciplinary procedures; keeps records of any disciplinary action.
  9. Assists the principal in the overall administration of the school.
  10. Performs such record keeping functions as the principal may direct.
  11. Interacts with students, teachers and parents in a professional and respectful manner.
  12. Works with others consistently in a cooperative and respectful manner.
  13. Supervises the school's athletic programs.
  14. Supervises the school's facility usage.
  15. Supervises all aspects of the school's maintenance program.
  16. Coordinates the school's emergency preparedness response.
  17. Prepares all disciplinary hearing packets.
  18. Performs all other duties and responsibilities designated by the principal.

TERMS: High School Assistant Principals - 215 Days
Salary and work year to be recommended by the Superintendent and approved by the Board.
