Admin Assistant, Adult Education (Harrison County Campus)
Job Description
The AE Administrative Assistant provides administrative support for the Adult Education division. This position reports to the Director of Adult Education.
Job Duties
1. Adheres to all MGCCC policies and procedures.
2. Follows the directions of the Accountability and Assessment Coordinator or AE director and works as an effective member of the instructional team to ensure the success of all students.
3. Serve as the first line of contact for prospective students inquiring about Adult Education programs, delivering a welcoming, encouraging, and supportive initial experience.
4. Responsible for managing and organizing calls, web pre-applications, and walk-ins for the Adult Education program.
5. Carries out the preparation of Intake and Orientation for the Adult Education program.
6. Monitors and observes student behaviors and shares observations with the College and Career Navigator(s), and AE Instructor(s).
7. Assists in providing individual support for students with registering for the Adult Education program.
8. Organizes, uses, and maintains supplies, materials, and equipment.
9. Assists in providing non-instructional support for students.
10. Understands community resources and discusses possible referrals with the College and Career Navigators and AE Instructor(s).
11. Assists with intake, orientation and assessment of students.
12. Assists Academic Assistants in preparing, recording, and monitoring student folders.
13. Assists instructor in administering, scoring, and evaluating diagnostic tests.
14. Assists in preparing student folders and maintaining records of student progress.
15. Assists in collecting data for reports for the AE division.
16. Understands and uses the state approved data system.
17. Maintains a professional attitude toward students and college personnel.
18. Performs all other duties as assigned.
Mandatory Qualifications
(M1) Minimum of Associate's degree from an institution of higher education or "Silver or Above" score for National Career Readiness Certification (NCRC).
(M2) Excellent written and interpersonal communication, and customer service skills.
(M3) Ability to effectively multitask in fast-paced environments by prioritizing responsibilities, maintaining accuracy, and adapting to changing priorities while delivering high quality work.
(M4) Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite.
Desirable Qualifications
(D1) Bachelor's degree in Business, education, or computer related field.
(D2) Community college experience and/or SCT Banner experience.
(D3) Experience teaching High School Equivalency/Basic Skills.
