WORK SCHEDULE
Temporary, part-time; Up to 29.5 hours/week. The summer youth hire positions work 6 to 8 weeks during the summer months and provide general office and other support to the ONC offices with an emphasis on customer service and basic business operations.
SUMMARY
This internship is designed to be both educational and practical. In this position, the intern will learn how to apply skills they may have acquired in school related to their areas of interest in a professional setting. They will gain a better understanding of the role that the administration can play in an Alaskan Native Corporation setting. The student filling this position will handle a wide range of important duties.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Staff the front desk and phone lines as needed.
  • Performs varied clerical and administrative duties requiring knowledge of office routine and an understanding of the organization, programs, and procedures related to the work of the office.
  • Learn basic office administration.
  • Learn professionalism fundamentals.
  • Learns the fundamentals of ANCSA Village Corporation.
  • Other duties and projects as assigned
  • Maintain regular and punctual attendance.

Job Requirements
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
  • Applicants should be a Ouzinkie Native Corporation shareholder or descendant.
  • Applicant should show a strong interest in the fields of Business, Finance, Economics, or Accounting.
  • Ages 14-18 years old
  • Have reliable transportation to the worksite.
  • Is willing to commit to reporting to work regularly, barring an emergency.
  • No experience necessary.
  • Strong communication skills and punctuality.
  • Appropriate public contact and telephone etiquette.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with the office team and shareholders.
  • Comfortably operating a personal computer using a variety of software applications.
  • Skill in operating office equipment.

  • Ability to communicate verbally and in writing.
  • Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills, including those needed to accurately and orderly file documents.
  • Good analytical and interpersonal relationship skills.
