) MDS Coordinator Nurse
Requirements:
  • Active Washington State RN or LPN license
  • Minimum 1-year MDS experience in SNF setting

Job Summary
Alaska Gardens Health and Rehabilitation Center in is seeking a MDS Coordinator Nurse to perform assessments of new patients and transmit MDS report forms for billing purposes in accordance with current applicable federal, state, and local standards, guidelines and regulations, and as may be directed by the administrator, to assure that the highest degree of quality resident care can be maintained at all times.
Essential Position Duties:
  • Plan, develop, direct, evaluate, and coordinate educational and on-the-job training programs. Incorporate commercially produced instruction material and training aids into existing in-service programs as deemed necessary.
  • Develop, evaluate and control the quality of in-service educational programs in accordance with established policies and procedures.
  • Secure, develop and maintain records, reports, instructional manuals, reference materials, etc., pertinent to in-service educational programs.
  • Perform administrative requirements such as completing necessary forms, reports, class attendance and subject records, etc.
  • Make written and oral reports/recommendations to the administrator concerning in-service training programs.
  • Work with business office in order to makes sure that all employees receive the correct benefits packages

Education, Licensure, & Experience Requirements:
  • Must possess a Clear & Active RN or LPN license in the WA.
  • DSD Certified preferred
  • Minimum two (2) years of experience in a post-acute/ skilled nursing facility, LTC or hospital
  • Minimum 1-year MDS experience in SNF setting

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
  • Knowledgeable of nursing and medical practices and procedures, as well as laws, regulations and guidelines that pertain to nursing care facilities.
