Job description

Quanex is looking for an Administrative Assistant/Receptionist to join our team located in Houston, Texas.

The Administrative Assistant/Receptionist manages the daily administration and clerical activities for our Houston office to ensure that policies, practices, office services, event plans, and department policies are met and maintained. In this role, the successful candidate will provide receptionist support, including greeting guests, answering the company’s main phone line, and maintaining the receptionist area. Due to the responsibilities associated with the role, this is an onsite, Monday through Friday position.

What Success Looks Like:

  • Handle various housekeeping items and document control.
  • Process office services invoices and assist with expense report processing for the executive team.
  • Manage, organize, and reorder supplies.
  • Distribute employee mail and assist with shipping and mailing.
  • Assist with employee entertainment programs and engagement activities.
  • Support the Quanex Foundation Administrator by entering checks into QuickBooks, help manage the Matching Gifts system, create and maintain tax receipt letters, mail checks, verify 501c3 status, and process new charity requests.
  • Assist the Sr. Executive Assistant with various document creation and processing.
  • Provide meeting room coordination and support.
  • Assist and maintain Legal files. 
  • Partner with HR for onboarding activities.

Your Credentials:

  • Minimum 3 years of administrative support experience
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong human relation skills.
  • Efficient time management and organizational skills.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality.
  • Proficient computer and Microsoft Office skills.
  • Familiarity with QuickBooks is a plus.

The annual base salary range for this position is $47,000 to $57,000 with the potential to earn an annual bonus.
