Familiarity with digital teaching platforms, audio recording equipment, and piano accompaniment is typically expected, as well as credentials such as NATS (National Association of Teachers of Singing) membership. What is an Adjunct Voice Professor job?

An Adjunct Voice Professor is a part-time faculty member who teaches voice lessons, vocal techniques, and performance skills at a college or university. They typically work on a contractual basis and may teach private lessons, group classes, or vocal ensembles. Their responsibilities often include preparing students for performances, assessing vocal progress, and offering guidance on vocal health. Unlike full-time professors, adjuncts usually do not have research or administrative duties. Their role provides students with specialized instruction while allowing the professor to balance other professional commitments.

What are typical teaching responsibilities and expectations for an Adjunct Voice Professor?

As an Adjunct Voice Professor, you are typically responsible for providing one-on-one vocal instruction, coaching students on technique, repertoire, and performance practices. While adjunct roles are often part-time and may not include committee work, active engagement with students and collaboration with other faculty are still important. This role requires strong organizational skills to manage lesson schedules and offer timely feedback, helping students achieve their individual musical goals.
