What is an Adidas Product Testing job?

An Adidas Product Testing job involves evaluating the brand's products before they are released to the public. Testers receive prototype footwear, apparel, or gear and provide feedback on performance, comfort, and durability. This helps Adidas improve their designs and ensure quality. It’s usually a volunteer-based program rather than a paid position, and participants must meet specific criteria to qualify.

What kind of products and testing scenarios are involved in an Adidas Product Testing role?

As an Adidas Product Tester, you'll work with a variety of products, including footwear, apparel, and accessories, testing them for comfort, durability, and performance under real-world conditions. Your daily responsibilities may include participating in wear trials, completing detailed feedback surveys, and collaborating with product designers and engineers to report findings. The testing can take place in labs, on athletic fields, or during normal everyday activities, depending on the product and its intended use. This work is highly collaborative and contributes directly to product improvements, offering a chance to influence Adidas' future innovations while gaining insights into the product development process.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive in the Adidas Product Testing position, and why are they important?

To excel in Adidas Product Testing, strong attention to detail, analytical thinking, and a background in product evaluation or sports science are typically required. Familiarity with data collection tools, feedback platforms, and an understanding of athletic footwear or apparel performance standards are often important. Excellent communication, problem-solving abilities, and the ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams set candidates apart. These competencies ensure that product feedback is precise, actionable, and contributes to the development of innovative, high-quality Adidas products.

WHY WE THINK YOU WILL LOVE THIS ROLE

As PDP Designer, you'll be a core creative maker on the Conair content pod-turning strategy, SEO/GEO direction, and product truths into high-performing PDP layouts and visual systems that are ready to publish at scale (Amazon-first), across a high-volume SKU pipeline.

You'll work end-to-end across the PDP workflow-developing visual direction and comps, creating and evolving PDP templates (ABF/BTF, Brand Store and A+ modules where applicable), partnering with Copy and DEX to make features scannable for both humans and search/AI, and using Vizit to test and validate creative before it ships. You'll also collaborate tightly with Production/Studio on shoots, post, and versioning, and with Ops on DAM/PIM readiness and content governance-so the work is not only beautiful, but operationally clean.

WHAT YOU WILL BRING TO THE ORGANIZATION

PDP design ownership & visual systems

  • Own PDP design output across priority SKUs-translating product features, brand guidance, and DEX strategy into clear, conversion-minded layouts (hero, modules, infographics, comparison moments) that align to retailer requirements and a consistent Conair system.
  • Build and evolve repeatable PDP templates and design guidelines (ABF/BTF structures, typography, iconography, layout rules, and modular components) to enable scale, speed, and consistent quality across a large SKU pipeline.
  • Partner tightly with Copy, DEX/Strategy, and Account/Ops to ensure designs ladder up to the content hierarchy and SEO/GEO direction, are routed through approvals cleanly, and are delivered in the right formats/naming conventions for DAM/PIM publishing.
  • Maintain strong production handoff hygiene: organized working files, clear specs, version control, accessibility/readability checks, and QA against retailer constraints so Studio/Post and Ops can move quickly without rework.

Testing, iteration & production collaboration

  • Use Vizit (and other available tools) to test creative direction, validate "in-PDP" layouts, and incorporate learnings into comps and templates-balancing performance insights with brand craft.
  • Design modular A+ / Brand Store elements (where in scope) that extend the PDP story below the fold-supporting comparison, ecosystem selling, and feature education while keeping layouts flexible for future SKU rollouts.
  • Collaborate with Production/Studio through shoot planning, post-production, and asset versioning-ensuring your designs can be efficiently executed (retouch, color, crops, variants) and delivered ready for upload/publish.

SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE WE WOULD LIKE YOU TO HAVE

  • 3+ years of design experience (digital, eCommerce, or brand/retail), with a portfolio showing conversion-minded layouts, strong typography, and clear visual hierarchy.
  • Experience designing for PDPs and retail/e-commerce ecosystems (Amazon-first preferred): understanding common retailer constraints, image/copy modules, and how customers scan content above and below the fold.
  • Comfort producing key PDP outputs at scale: comps and visual direction, modular templates/design systems, infographics and comparison moments, and (where in scope) A+/Brand Store modules-paired with strong file organization, version control, and production-ready handoffs.
  • Strong cross-functional collaboration skills-partnering with Copy and DEX/Strategy to translate content hierarchy and SEO/GEO direction into scannable designs and working with Studio/Production and Ops to deliver assets that are QA'd, spec'd correctly, and ready for DAM/PIM publishing.

 And we'd love you to...

  • Bring strong craft and curiosity: explore multiple layout directions quickly, sweat the details (type, spacing, hierarchy), and keep raising the bar on clarity and brand consistency.
  • Be comfortable iterating fast: incorporate feedback, use tools like Vizit (when available) to validate "in-PDP" creative, and improve templates/components so we can move quickly across many SKUs without sacrificing quality.

Any of the following would be a plus

  • Experience partnering with or operating within PXM/PIM/DAM environments (e.g., Salsify and/or DAM governance), and comfort coordinating asset metadata, usage rights, QA, and publishing workflows.

Starting salary between $75,000-$80,000
