Job description

Position: Director of Facilities and Game Operations
Department: Athletics
Status: Full Time
Position Summary:
The Director of Facilities and Game Operations is responsible for all aspects of facility maintenance for all athletic venues and game day management for all home athletic competitions. This position is also responsible for the operations of game day management at select home athletic contests.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Responsible for all facets of game day operations for the majority of home contests, to include set up and breakdown for specific events, scheduling working staff, communication and coordination with visiting teams, officials, security, EMS, turf management crew, housekeeping, facilities managements, etc. on game day operational needs, serve as main contact for campus constituents, etc.
  • Implement and enforce department policies regarding hours of operation and individual access to athletic venues.
  • Responsible for the athletic venues master schedule, to include practices and non-athletic events, for all athletic venues.
  • Serve as the Championship Director for tournaments hosted at or by Campbell Athletics.
  • Serve as primary contact for Facilities Management.
  • Develop and implement a facility maintenance plan for all athletic venues.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Athletic Director and/or Deputy AD, COO.

Education/Experience:
  • Bachelor's degree required, Master's degree desired
  • 2-3 years of experience directly related to the duties and responsibilities

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
  • Ability to communicate effectively to all groups through both oral and written channels
  • Strong interpersonal, organizational, and time management skills
  • Excellent leadership and supervisory skills
  • Knowledge of Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint and standard methods of digital communication, including web/text/chat platforms
  • Demonstrate tact, a positive attitude, courtesy and discretion in dealing with coaches, faculty-staff, students, high-level university officials and the public
  • Work independently as well as function effectively in a team and within a diverse group of people
  • Exercise independent/good judgment in complex, new, and/or stressful situations
  • Manage multiple, concurrent projects, and meet strict deadlines
  • Adaptability, flexibility and a willingness to work in a changing environment
  • Ability to work occasional evening or weekend hours, including holidays
  • This position demands accuracy, honesty, integrity and the ability to work within the Christian mission of Campbell University.
