Job description

Overview

If you deliver a dose of compassion to every patient you see, you may be an ideal addition to the Legacy community. You'll provide medical and surgical supplemental services within an assigned clinic. Every aspect of your work will reflect the Legacy mission of making life better for others.

Legacy Emanuel Medical Center is an ACS Verified Level 1 adult and pediatric trauma Center that admits about 2700 patients per year. The trauma/acute care surgeons cover trauma evaluations, emergency general surgery consults, and the surgical intensive care unit. There is an elective general surgery component, and a DaVinci Xi robot available. Legacy Emanuel also has a busy ECMO service with an established pathway for the interested candidate to become credentialed to provide ECMO services, though this is not required. The trauma service has 24/7 surgical resident and APP coverage. Teaching and research opportunities are abundant.

Candidates must be BC/BE in General surgery and have completed a Surgical Critical Care fellowship. All experience levels will be considered.

Responsibilities

Candidates must be BC/BE in General surgery and have completed a Surgical Critical Care fellowship. All experience levels will be considered.

Qualifications
  • MD or DO
  • Active ATLS certification
  • Must be able to demonstrate surgical skills expected in a level 1 trauma facility
  • Must be BE/BC as a surgeon and be able to meet medical staff requirements
Licensure
  • Must be able to obtain Oregon licensure prior to employment
