JOB OVERVIEW

In the Audio and Acoustic Systems Integration Engineer role, you will support the lead Audio Integration Engineer in carrying out design studies and providing support to resolve audio-related hardware issues. You will also help evaluate the audio quality for AR and VR systems.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Support the design and prototyping of audio subsystems for AR and VR products.
  • Support the design and prototyping of noise and vibration subsystems (such as VR fan systems).
  • Perform acoustic analysis of audio subsystems or noise and vibration subsystems through measurement, DOEs, and communicating results to cross-functional teams.
  • Support the manufacturing of products by collaborating with cross-functional teams, suppliers, and/or CMs.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to bring up development-level hardware for audio and acoustic testing. This involves working with development-level software and hardware.
  • Act as point of contact for specific product audio development activities. Plan and lead team meetings as necessary to accomplish project goals. Proactively engage and update team members to keep product requirements and timelines on target.
  • Independently manage multiple workstreams and prioritize critical activities.
  • Requires 15% travel to Asia

Required Qualifications

  • Graduate Degree; M.S. in acoustics preferred; graduate-level degree in EE or ME
  • Strong mathematical background in physics
  • Strong understanding of the full acoustic/audio and software/hardware signal paths
  • Strong fundamentals in digital signal processing and psychoacoustics
  • Acoustic test and measurement skills
  • Experience with data analysis, reporting, and presentation
  • Experience with MATLAB and/or Python coding
  • Experience with Soundcheck, Audio Precision, DAW (digital audio workstation)
  • Critical listening skills for audio quality evaluationsStrong technical communication skills
  • Self-motivated, flexible to switch contexts, and open to learning
