Job description

We are a federal IT company on a mission to make customer experience (CX) the center of every government solution.

Technology is our Passion. People are our Purpose.

We know tech, but we love people. NuAxis is home to thinkers and feelers, engineers and artists. We work hard and support each other along the way. Teamwork is more than just a buzzword for us, it’s a state of mind. We believe happy employees do amazing work, so join our team NOW! We are currently seeking a talented and motivated Senior AV Engineer for a Full-Time position.

Job Summary:

The SeniorAVEngineer keeps WMATA's mission-criticalAVenvironments running flawlessly — supporting the RGB Spectrum video wall system and delivering comprehensive audio-visual support for critical operations centers and enterpriseAVenvironments across WMATA facilities. You'll ownAVsystem design, monitoring, lifecycle management, and routine health assessments that keep these systems highlyavailable, reliable, and always ready for operations. You'll provide technical leadership across enterprise audio-visual systems, including Crestron-controlled environments, conference room collaboration platforms, and video wall infrastructure. This is hands-on, high-impact work: supporting, integrating, and modernizingAVtechnologies, spotting aging and end-of-life systems before they fail, and recommending what to upgrade next. You'll also ensureAVsolutions integrate seamlessly with enterprise IT infrastructure and keep program leadership and stakeholders in the loop in plain language. The ideal candidate has hands‑on experience supporting and modifying enterprise audio-visual control systems, including Crestron-controlled environments, within mission‑critical settings such as command centers, video wall systems, and executiveAVenvironments — but if you've done this work and can point to it, we want to hear from you, even if you don't match every line below.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide daily support for the RGB Spectrum video wall system and associatedAVcontrol systems.
  • Recommend and implement design revisions for video wall layouts andAVcontrol configurations.
  • Address IT system maintenance and support for video walls, conference roomAVsystems, and operations center environments.
  • MonitorAVdevices across the WMATA environment to assess system health, performance, and reliability.
  • Identify end-of-life (EOL)AVtechnologies and recommend modernization or replacement strategies.
  • Design and implement customAVsolutions using industry-standard technologies including Crestron, AMX, Extron, and similar platforms.
  • Program and configure Crestron control systems and support integration ofAVtechnologies with enterprise IT infrastructure.
  • Coordinate device servicing, preventative maintenance, and proactive upgrades forAVsystems.
  • Collaborate with Service Desk Management and infrastructure teams to establish response policies andAVsupport best practices.
  • Communicate with senior leadership and key stakeholders regardingAVinitiatives, system upgrades, and operational needs.
  • Perform regular system health checks and provide periodic reports outlining system performance and improvement opportunities.
  • MaintainAVdocumentation including system diagrams, configuration documentation, and lifecycle tracking.
  • Support a full range of audio-visual equipment and control systems beyond Crestron, ensuring comprehensive coverage and integration across WMATA'sAVenvironment.
Qualifications: Required Qualifications:
  • Experience supporting Crestron-controlledAVenvironments.
  • Experience with Crestron programming and configuration ofAVcontrol systems.
  • Experience integratingAVtechnologies with enterprise IT infrastructure and collaboration platforms.
  • Experience supporting enterpriseAVsystems including conference rooms, control systems, and collaboration technologies.
  • Experience troubleshootingAVcontrol systems, video distribution, and integratedAVenvironments.
  • Knowledge ofAVsystem architecture, configuration, and maintenance.
  • Ability to perform system diagnostics, preventative maintenance, and operational reporting.
  • Some supervisory, team lead, or mentoring experience — e.g., guiding juniortechnicians or coordinatingAVsupport staff.
  • Ability to communicate technical solutions and system updates to senior leadership and stakeholders.
  • Strong communication and team collaboration skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience supporting RGB Spectrum video wall systems or similar enterprise video wall platforms.
  • Experience with Crestron Fusion and Crestron Toolbox.
  • Experience with AMX, Extron, or otherAVcontrol platforms.
  • Experience supporting critical operations center environments.
  • AVIXA certifications (CTS, CTS-D, CTS-I) or similarAVindustry certifications.
  • Experience supporting large enterprise or governmentAVenvironments
Our Profile:

We are an IT company with a unique mission—to make people the center of every federal IT solution. Our technologists have always gone the extra mile to help our federal clients succeed. And over the years, we saw a growing disconnect in how federal IT initiatives were built and managed.Time after time, programs failed because the focus was on the tools and products and not the people using them.
