Job description

The Afognak Commercial Group, LLC Chief Operating Officer (ACG COO) is the principal executive vested with management and control of the daily operations and affairs of Afognak Commercial Group, LLC ("ACG") and all ACG's subsidiaries. The ACG COO reports to the Afognak Native Corporation CEO. The ACG COO formulates and executes short- and long-term commercial strategies including Board level strategic guidance when provided by the CEO.

The ACG COO establishes policy, develops and implements administrative procedures, and controls subsidiary-wide infrastructure and activities for each line of business. Each ACG subsidiary is managed by a Subsidiary President or Director of Operations, who handles day-to-day operational activities. For certain ACG subsidiaries, the ACG COO may also serve as President, Member Representative or a Director.

The position is based at the Afognak Native Corporation headquarters in Anchorage, Alaska. 1. Management and Supervision of Subsidiary Operations: Oversee and perform operations management of multiple commercial business lines in various geographical locations including logistics, retail, remote facilities, commercial real estate and fleet management.

Manage all aspects of commercial property owned or leased by ACG, including sales, leases, subleases and marketing efforts. Measure effectiveness and efficiency of operational processes both internally and externally and find ways to improve. Responsible for driving ACG and its subsidiaries to achieve and surpass sales, profitability, cash flow, business goals and objectives.

Serve as primary point of contact and liaison between ACG and clients for continued business. Perform and maintain marketing efforts including participating in all aspects of sales and business development. Identify and participate in corporate commercial expansion activities including commercial investments, acquisitions, corporate alliances, etc.

Oversee all commercial bid and proposal functions including formulating pricing. Serve as primary point of contact in connection with commercial operations for regulatory and community governing bodies, including maintaining positive working relationships in the communities where ACG or its subsidiaries operate. Maintain extensive professional network including participation in relevant professional organizations.

Entertain clients and vendors during business hours and after normal business hours. 2. Provides Oversight of Project and Program Leadership and Staff: Recruit, lead, motivate, mentor and coach ACG operations team including management team to develop a high performing organization.

Motivate staff to meet or surpass performance and sales goals. Constantly evaluate and oversee daily operations, adjusting as necessary. Promote communication between colleagues for the benefit of information flow.

Ability to develop highly regarded relationships between ACG and clients and vendors. 3. Sets the Strategic Vision for the Subsidiary: Develop and implement sustainable growth strategies, annual operating plans and procedures for ACG and its subsidiaries.

Forecast requirements; work with staff to prepare an annual budget, schedule expenditures; analyze variances and initiate corrective actions. Contribute operations information and recommendations to strategic plans and reviews, including the preparation and completion of action plans and performing internal audits. 4.

Provides Liaison between awarded projects and Corporate Leadership and Corporate Staff: Oversee and participate heavily in the drafting and communications with the Legal Department of all contracts related to commercial operations, including MSAs, special projects, client contracts, vendor contracts, and acquisitions. Assist the CFO in providing information and reports for external auditing firm for annual audits. 5.

Assumes other duties and special projects as assigned by the ANC CEO/President. Payrange: $254,443 to $324,415 AnnuallyRequired Qualifications: Prefer 4-year bachelor's degree from an accredited university. Demonstrate financial management and budgeting skills.

Experience leading, managing and growing a $100M+ commercial enterprise. Have in-depth knowledge of operating business lines including facilities, retail, commercial real estate, fleet management, logistics and industrial security. Create and maintain strong client and vendor relationships.

Effectively manage staff from multiple locations in several business lines. Have extensive experience in bids and proposals submission including formulation of pricing. Proven track record in managing multiple operations and businesses.

Aptitude in decision-making and problem solving. Understanding data analysis and performance/operation metrics. Outstanding organizational and leadership abilities.

Excellent interpersonal and public speaking skills. Must be a strong and agile leader with proven ability to work effectively across functional groups of the organization. Required Experience: Extensive experience and excellent reputation in commercial business markets and governing bodies in Alaska.

Minimum 15 years' experience in retail, freight and logistics. Experience in facilities management, oil and gas services a plus. Demonstrated record of successfully managing P&Ls with Revenue in excess of $100M.

Excellent computer skills (MS Word, Power Point, Excel); ability to create and edit high quality written deliverables.Required Qualifications: Prefer 4-year bachelor's degree from an accredited university.
