Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the complete accounts payable and accounts receivable cycle, ensuring transactions are processed accurately and on schedule.
  • Perform account and bank reconciliations, investigate variances, and assist in preparing monthly financial statements and related reporting.
  • Administer annual 1099 preparation and filing activities while maintaining compliant vendor records.
  • Record payroll-related journal entries and reconcile payroll balances to confirm accuracy within the general ledger.
  • Prepare, review, and post journal entries to support daily accounting activity and period-end close requirements.
  • Maintain organized financial records and contribute to a smooth month-end close by tracking deadlines and resolving outstanding items.
  • Analyze discrepancies in accounting data, identify root causes, and implement timely resolutions to correct issues.
  • Recommend and support process enhancements by using accounting systems and technology to improve workflow efficiency and accuracy.
  • At least 3 years of accounting experience with hands-on responsibility for accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger activity.
  • Demonstrated ability to complete reconciliations and support financial reporting.
  • Working knowledge of 1099 reporting, payroll accounting, journal entries, and general accounting principles.
  • Experience with bank reconciliations, general ledger systems, and maintaining accurate financial records.
  • Strong attention to detail with solid organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively.
  • Confidence in learning new software tools and applying technology to improve accounting processes.
  • Strong analytical thinking, independent troubleshooting ability, and effective communication skills in a collaborative work environment.
