Job description

We are looking for an Accounting Coordinator to support core financial operations and help maintain accurate, timely reporting for our team. This role is ideal for an accounting specialist who is comfortable managing multi lender construction draws.


Responsibilities:

• Create and post documentation for large construction WIP reports

• Manage monthly settlement recordings and ensure related transactions are reflected correctly throughout the accounting cycle.

• Reconcile balance sheet accounts, including bank accounts, and investigate discrepancies to resolution.

• Review property tax obligations across communities and coordinate annual payments in a timely manner.

•Prepare financial documentation for lenders.

• Support land development accounting by processing contracts, reviewing pay applications, and tracking budgets and cost reports.

• Monitor fixed asset activity to ensure purchases are capitalized appropriately and depreciation is recorded on time.

• Analyze overhead expenses, assist with account coding, and review house and land costing for variances, cost code issues, and overall accuracy.

• Coordinate with project managers to track hours and time and material monthly expenditures

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting.

• At least 3 years of accounting experience, in a corporate or project-based environment.

• Strong understanding of generally accepted accounting principles and standard financial reporting practices.

• Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook.

• Experience using accounting software; familiarity with homebuilding or construction-related systems is preferred.

• Demonstrated analytical ability with strong attention to detail and solid problem-solving skills.

• Effective written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to manage priorities in a deadline-driven setting.
