Individual can be located in Mahnomen, Moorhead, or Saint Cloud. Some travel will be required between locations.
Position Summary
This role is ideal for someone who enjoys applying accounting principles to ensure accuracy and consistency in revenue recognition. This role will be focused on processing and reviewing retail and wholesale revenue for a growing cannabis company, ensuring compliance with ASC606, and supporting the monthly close. This role is a strong opportunity to deepen your revenue accounting skills, learn from experienced professionals on the team, and build a foundation that prepares you for more complex analysis as your career progresses.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Support financial closings, reporting, analysis and account reconciliation
Interact with team members and stakeholders, laying the groundwork for future collaboration and communication Independently review and process standard, repeatable sales orders and revenue contracts.
Monthly and year-end closing processes, including journal postings and financial statement generation.
Financial analysis on sales, margins, expenditures, and key organizational metrics.
Monthly general ledger reconciliations for key balance sheet accounts.
Review and approve Expenditure Requests, including supporting documentation and financial analysis.
Apply meticulous attention to detail to ensure understanding and handling of orders are error-free and compliant.
Education:
High school diploma or equivalent required. A bachelor's degree in a related field (business, logistics, etc.) is required. An associates degree paired with years of experience will be considered.
Experience:
Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance is required. An associates degree paired with years of experience will be considered.
Previous accounting experience in retail is preferred
Three to five years previous experience is required
Proficient in Microsoft Office including Excel and PowerPoint is required
Experience with Acumatica ERP or similar software preferred
Knowledge and Skills

Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of the organization.
Mathematical Skills
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
Reasoning Ability
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
Computer Skills
To perform this job successfully, an individual should have expert knowledge of Microsoft Office software. Previous experience with accounting software is required.
Certificates / Licenses / Registrations / Requirements
Must be twenty-one (21) years or older.
Able to pass background check and drug screening.
Able to maintain strict confidentiality.
Must fully meet the licensing requirements of the White Earth Medical Cannabis Control Board and be licensed to dispense medical cannabis according to the rules and regulations promulgated by the White Earth Medical Cannabis Control Board, in accordance with the White Earth Medicinal Cannabis Code.
