Position Summary

We are seeking an experienced Assistant Controller to join our growing Finance and Accounting team during an important period in our company’s evolution. Reporting directly to the Vice President of Finance, this position will help lead our accounting operations, financial reporting, and financial planning and analysis.

This is a highly visible, hands-on role that will help build the financial infrastructure required to support continued growth. The Assistant Controller will manage key aspects of the financial close, strengthen internal controls, support technical accounting and audit activities, improve financial reporting, and help prepare the company for SEC and SOX requirements.

A significant responsibility of this position will be partnering with the Vice President of Finance to deliver timely, accurate, and meaningful financial and operational reporting across the organization. This includes preparing recurring executive reporting packages, supporting business leaders with financial analysis, developing new reports to meet evolving business requirements, and transforming financial data into actionable information for decision-making.

In addition to accounting leadership, this position will partner with business and operational leaders to develop budgets and forecasts, analyze performance, evaluate business decisions, and identify opportunities to improve profitability and cash flow.

What You’ll Do

  • Manage key aspects of the monthly, quarterly, and annual financial close.
  • Prepare and review GAAP-compliant financial statements and management reports.
  • Develop, maintain, and continually improve recurring management reporting packages for executive leadership, business unit leaders, and corporate finance.
  • Respond to evolving reporting requests by creating new financial analyses, dashboards, and reporting templates to support operational and strategic decision-making.
  • Partner with cross-functional teams—including Operations, Engineering, Supply Chain, Sales, HR, and Executive Leadership—to provide financial reporting and insights that drive business performance.
  • Translate financial and operational data into clear, actionable reporting for both finance and non-finance stakeholders.
  • Support external audits, technical accounting, and due diligence.
  • Help establish SOX-ready internal controls and scalable accounting processes.
  • Support the future preparation of SEC filings and related financial disclosures.
  • Lead budgeting, forecasting, financial modeling, and variance analysis.
  • Oversee manufacturing and cost-accounting activities, including inventory and standard costs.
  • Partner with leaders to evaluate profitability, working capital, capital investments, and operational performance.
  • Own the preparation and distribution of monthly business reviews, KPI reporting, variance analyses, and executive presentation materials.
  • Support ERP, reporting, consolidation, and finance-process improvements.
  • Provide leadership and technical guidance to members of the accounting team.
Requirements:

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or a related field.
  • Seven or more years of progressive accounting and finance experience.
  • Strong knowledge of GAAP, financial reporting, close processes, audits, and internal controls.
  • Experience with budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis.
  • Advanced Excel and financial-system skills.
  • Strong technical, analytical, organizational, and communication abilities.
  • CPA or CMA and public accounting experience strongly preferred.
  • IPO-readiness, SEC reporting, or SOX experience strongly preferred.
  • Manufacturing, aerospace, defense, or cost-accounting experience preferred.

Benefits: We offer a comprehensive benefits package that includes medical, dental, and vision coverage; a 401(k) plan with company match; paid time off (including vacation and company holidays); life and disability insurance; and an employee assistance program. Employees may also be eligible for professional development support, and wellness initiatives. Benefits eligibility and offerings may vary based on position, location, and length of employment.

EEO Summary: We are an equal opportunity employer and are committed to creating an inclusive environment for all employees. All qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to race, color, religion, sex (including pregnancy, sexual orientation, and gender identity), national origin, age, disability, genetic information, veteran status, or any other status protected by applicable federal, state, or local laws.
