Job description

Accounting Intern (Part time) - Baton Rouge, LA

Schedule: Flexible and based on student’s availability

DSLD Homes is looking for an Accounting Intern to help with monthly tasks, handle general accounting functions, work with staff on miscellaneous projects and assist with various accounting reconciliations and analysis.

Under the direction of the Controller, the Accounting Intern will participate in general ledger, month end close and reporting processes, as well as learn the daily processes including, but not limited to, entering invoices, processing payables, and setting up new vendors.

Job Duties and Responsibilities

  • Provide support to the team on daily, monthly, quarterly and annual tasks
  • Take on special projects and execute them within the required timeframe
  • Support Accounts Payable processes through daily invoice collection, scanning and data entry
  • Assist with collection, tracking and payment of property tax bills
  • General accounting work – journal entries, reconciliations, etc.

Job Requirements amp; Skills

  • Accounting Major with minimum of three accounting classes completed
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong analytical skills and keen attention to detail
  • Availability to work 15-20 hours per week
  • Natural curiosity and desire to develop professionally
