Job description

Accounting Assistant (Controller Support – Collision Industry)

Honolulu, HI (On-Site)
UNIBODY Autotech Collision
$20–$28/hr | Full-Time or Part-Time

Join a High-Performance Team

UNIBODY Autotech Collision is Hawaii’s premier collision repair center. We run a fast-paced, high-volume operation where accuracy, speed, and accountability matter.

We’re looking for an Accounting Assistant to work directly with our Controller and help manage a collision-specific accounting system — including parts, job costing, and insurance receivables.

What Makes This Role Different

This is not traditional accounting.

You’ll learn how accounting connects to:

  • Collision repair job costing
  • Parts purchasing + inventory posting
  • Insurance payments + supplements
  • OEM procedures tied to repair operations

We use CCC ONE (collision management system) — we’ll train you — but you must be ready to learn automotive + OEM terminology and how it impacts financials.

What You’ll Do

  • Support Controller with daily accounting + financial tracking
  • Manage Accounts Receivable (insurance + customer payments)
  • Post and track parts invoices, vendor bills, and job costs
  • Reconcile repair orders with financial records
  • Assist with payroll, journal entries, and month-end close
  • Perform bank + credit card reconciliations
  • Keep books clean, accurate, and audit-ready

What We Want

  • 1+ year accounting / bookkeeping experience
  • Strong attention to detail (numbers must match)
  • Comfortable learning new systems + industry terminology
  • QuickBooks + Excel experience preferred
  • Ability to follow up, solve problems, and stay organized
  • Willing to learn CCC ONE + collision repair workflows (we train)

Bonus (Big Advantage)

  • Experience in auto body, dealership, or repair shop accounting
  • Familiarity with parts invoicing, job costing, or inventory
  • Understanding of OEM parts / procedures (or willingness to learn fast)

Why Join Us

  • Work directly with leadership (Controller)
  • Learn a high-value niche skillset (collision accounting)
  • Growth opportunity into higher accounting roles
  • Full benefits (health, dental, vision, PTO)
  • Stable, high-performing company

Apply Now

If you want more than a basic accounting job and are ready to learn a specialized, in-demand skillset — apply today.

Quick Application Questions

  1. Have you worked with job costing or inventory accounting before? Explain.
  2. Are you comfortable learning new systems like CCC ONE?
  3. How do you ensure accuracy when entering financial data?
  4. Are you comfortable following up on unpaid invoices (insurance/customers)?
  5. Have you ever worked in automotive, construction, or another job-costing industry?

If you want next, I can:

  • Build you a training roadmap (30-60-90 days) for this hire
  • Or create a Controller dashboard (AR aging, parts margin leakage, missed labor revenue) so this role directly plugs your profit leaks.
