Position Summary

The Accounting Associate plays a key role in supporting the financial operations of the company. This position is responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, assisting with accounts payable and receivable, preparing financial reports, reconciling accounts, and ensuring compliance with accounting standards and company policies. The ideal candidate is highly organized, dependable, and thrives in a fast-paced environment where accuracy and attention to detail are essential.

Primary Responsibilities

Prepare and maintain financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow reports.

Reconcile bank accounts and general ledger accounts to ensure financial accuracy.

Process accounts payable and accounts receivable transactions.

Track customer payments and vendor invoices while resolving billing discrepancies.

Assist with month-end and year-end closing procedures.

Prepare and post journal entries.

Monitor company spending and assist with budget tracking.

Monitor and report cash flow activity.

Track inventory related to operational supplies and assist with inventory reconciliations.

Prepare and file sales tax reports while ensuring compliance with applicable regulations.

Work alongside external accounting and tax professionals during tax season.

Assist management by analyzing financial performance and identifying trends.

Support cost control initiatives and profitability analysis.

Assist with internal audits and help maintain strong financial controls.

Perform other accounting and administrative duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related business field.

0-2+ years of accounting, bookkeeping, or data entry experience.

Experience with QuickBooks Desktop and/or QuickBooks Online.

Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel.

Experience with Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable.

Strong mathematical and analytical skills.

Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
