Job description

TITLE: Accounting Assistant

 

POSITION OBJECTIVE: This position is responsible for the verification and batching of miscellaneous accounts payable for 2 plants and the batching of freight invoices for 1 plant. This position is shared with the HR department when assistance is needed.

 

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Minimum requirements are 2 (two) years’ experience in a manufacturing environment with computerized accounts payable and accounts receivable systems
  • 2 (two) years of college in accounting or business administration is preferred, but 2 (two) years’ experience in accounts payable or accounts receivable may substitute for the college
  • Ensure consistent, dependable attendance and demonstrate a willingness to accommodate non-standard work hours as necessary.
  • Capable of effectively managing job-related stress and fostering productive workplace interactions.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Processes miscellaneous AP invoices including verification and seeking appropriate approval of invoices for 2 locations
  • Processes freight invoices including verification and approval for variances for 1 location
  • Backup for applying accounts receivable cash payments, daily and research payment discrepancies, and report reasons to credit department for resolution
  • Performs other duties as assigned
  • Scanning and filing
  • Complies with all SQF procedures
  • Reports any food safety problems to a member of management or SF Practitioner

 

WORK ENVIRONMENT CONDITIONS SUBJECTED TO IN THIS POSITION:

  • Inside environmental conditions protected from weather conditions
  • Not exposed to any adverse environmental conditions. (Usually office work.)
